Bluejay Boring
The only thing amazing about this film was the mountains, wilderness and snow peaks. Otherwise it's the worst movie and I would not recommend you waste your time
Experimental.
Outside of the wishy washy conclusion, Blue Jay is a by-the-numbers indie-made survival-thriller of crazy mountain men stalking and terrorising a newly acquainted couple on a hiking trek.
It's well-made with a minor experimental touch here and there. Beautifully pristine mountain locations are strikingly photographed, and solid lead performances by James Landry Hébert and Sara Lindsey (who also co-wrote the story) anchor this one. I think the film was trying for some metaphysical aspects (the fascination for Lindsey's character seems much deeper for the leader of the mountain men), but I found those scattered elements incoherent than clear-cut.

Not as bad as the reviews
OK, all those that rated this movie at one or two haven't really seen a bad movie. This is not that bad! The movie introduces you to the characters and slowly builds into a relatively tense thriller.
The movie is far from perfect, and there will be several times your question their decisions. But it's a survival movie, and they all make stupid decisions!
If you were looking for a high end, Hollywood movie, look elsewhere, but if you are looking for something to give you some thrills, give it a shot. But before warned, the ending sucks. Not sure why they can't make movies with legitimate endings and a good conclusion anymore.

Terrible, really terrible
Excruciatingly pointless, storyline makes no sense and culminates into an ending that can only make you go huh?
