This is the first episode featuring Mila Kunis, who was mentioned in an earlier episode as being impossible for Walden to hook up with. Ashton Kutcher and Kunis co-stared on That '70s Show (1998), which she seems to refer to as her parents' inspiration for her name, Vivian, before stating that the '70s show was Maude (1972), which did have a character named Vivian (played by Rue McClanahan). She also refers to not being the Wicked Witch of the West, a reference to the role she played in Oz the Great and Powerful (2013). Kunis and Kutcher began dating in April 2012, and were married July 4, 2015.

Goofs
Vivian said she was a Sherpa in Nepal. This cannot be true because the Sherpa are a tribe. Well, a Sherpa is a member of a Tibetan community but it is also informally used to revere to a diplomat or civil servant.
