I found this sub par and boring.
The start of the soldiers wasting ammo in uncontrolled bursts. Special effects that would not make the cut on the reveal of Face Off.
Actors who do not emote well. Zombies knocking away might just have rung the front doorbell.
Others might find something to find value in this bleep but I thought it was a waste of My time.
It is a shame that SyFy used money and energy when they might have brought us more warehouse 13.
I am sure others will say the opposite of what I write. Be that as it may, I stand by my opinion.

Any show that has DJ Qualls in the cast is bound to suck. Add the incredibly obnoxious main character of Murphy, and you have something that is hard to watch. I tried sitting through the first season, and in spite of the fresh personalities of the rest of the cast, DJ Qualls and Murphy killed it for me.
Kellita and Hodkinson were great personalities and made the show fun. The crazy zombie action was sometimes funny and original, and sometimes it was pretty lame and stupid. This show was like eating at McDonalds. It was usually a pretty crappy experience, but you knew what you were getting.

First of all... This is my first review, but this show was SO bad! that i needed to write one.
This show is the worst i have seen in 10 years! The acting and script are so terrible and filled with bad cliché, and that is despite of the good actors.
For me the only convincing element in this show, is the zombies! (Have only seen the first episode)
At least if the show has been a black comedy, i could MAYBE ignore the terrible acting..
Please save yourself!

OK. I usually don't write reviews here, but given this occasion I couldn't pass the chance... this is how bad this series are. Coming up with something like this weeks before TWD returns with it's 5th season is either very courageous (and generally you can do that only if you think your product is better than TWD) or just plain stupid (which apparently is the case here). I generally give every new show 2 chances, meaning I generally try to overcome the general impression of "man, I can't watch this, I feel stupider by the minute" and hope that, somehow, it will get better. Well, this one won't. It started bad, it continued even worse and probably it will end up by being canceled. The acting is horrible, the storyline is for mentally challenged children, the CGI is bad, the makeup of the zombies looks like it's made by an 8-year-old. Damn, even the zombie acting is embarrassing in this one, and I don't really think you have to win an Oscar to know how a zombie should be on the screen (this one is for the director). Every time a "z" (annoying expression, by the way) looks at the screen and starts faking that stupid expression, it makes you realize that, compared to others of his kind, Uwe might be a genius.
In conclusion, if you are a fan of the well made zombie movies, don't waste your time with this one. However, if you generally like the crap ScyFy and Asylum produces, this might be the one you are looking for.

Kellita Smith went from a decent part of the show, to a gigantic joke. Season 4 is bad, I mean REALLY bad and I put a lot of the blame on Kellita Smith.
I don't know what happened, or why the big change, but it completely ruined the show. Do yourself a favor, stop at Season 3 and call it done.
Kellita Smith was excellent in Seasons 1 - 3. She played the part perfect. I can let the writing take a big chunk of this mess, but Smith from what I saw really ruined the whole Season 4. Haven't seen Season 5, I gotta say my hopes are not great.
If you enjoy bad TV...by all means, watch Season 4, but you have been warned.

You know what to expect and can predict what will happen. I'm no zombie expert but this is just bad.
Pretty much after The walking dead, this show just does it all over again with bad actors/actresses. Seriously their acting just makes this show worse than it is.
Their action is bad. Casting is even worse. Even face expressions on some of actors/actresses, just makes me laugh.
If you enjoy gore and killing zombie not stories and acting, this is for you. If you actually enjoy stories as well as action, not for you.
They could have it made better but didn't / couldn't. The walking dead is just a better show in my opinion.

Seriously pay attention.
A rating of anything over 2 or 3 stars is just mercy. This is bad TV at its worst.
Sure, it's not supposed to be "The walking dead" but it's not supposed to be garbage either. It feels as though the entire idea of this was hashed out in a board room, the casting grabbed the cheapest talent available, made a minor effort to find a somewhat recognizable face or two, grabbed some hack writers, and the rest was as cheap and pitiful as the main effort.
This is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on the Zombie craze. It's Sy fy or Sy phy however they butchered the Sci Fi name by trying to be cool.
They used to actually have some pretty good shows on. They Stargate shows were Oscar winning compared to the crap they are airing now. It seems the channel has really changed direction. It used to be good shows, Stargate, Eureka, even Warehouse 13. Now it's bad acting, horrible writing, and special effects you could expect to see in Bad 80's B movies, with more spent on advertising time, than actually spent on the entire annual budget. But then again, they only hype the shows on their network ad spots, so maybe, just maybe, they've fallen on hard times. No advertisers, so let's over hype a garbage show. The sad thing is, the more crap they put on TV because they think people are idiots and will watch any garbage they put out, the less revenue they make on ads, and before you know it..... Sy phy becomes Sie Phil because obviously changing the name to something idiotic the first time denoted a major drop off in quality, doing it again should serve notice that it's about to collapse.
Someone pointed out that this is not supposed to be "The Walking Dead" that's pretty obvious from trying to swallow the first ten minutes of this. There is more entertainment value in one episode of The Walking Dead than in a season of this crap. Even if you've never seen the walking dead, this is the kind of show that would leave you thinking "there is something out there better, I can feel it in my gut" because quite literally, it just doesn't get worse.
It's so bad, that a guy (me) who has been using IMDb for probably ten years, and has never reviewed anything, simply couldn't help but try and warn people not to watch this.
It's one of those rare shows that honestly makes you wish you had those 15 minutes back, because even though it's a half hour show (I'm seriously hoping, because if it's an hour, people would be trying to take their own lives, instead of watching Zombies in this show fail miserably at it) you simply can't manage to watch it for anything over 15 minutes.
I usually get annoyed at seeing commercials during shows, in this case I was annoyed at seeing this show breaking up the commercials. It's pretty bad when a 30 second commercial feels like it had more of a budget than the show you're watching!

This is bad, it's not funny bad like Sharknado, it's not so bad it's good like The Room. This show was just awful, bad special effects, bad acting from some people who honestly should have known better, but above all bad writing. We live in a time with some amazing shows, some of the best writing for TV ever is happening right now and SyFy spits in the viewers face with the "writing" of this show. I've rarely posted a bad review, but watching the pilot for this show (expletive) me off. Whoever green lit this for a series after watching that pilot should be fired, taken out back and beaten for crimes against the viewing public!
I won't post any spoilers, but the end of the pilot was predictable to a fault. I turned to the person I was watching with and said what was going to happen 20 minutes into the show. Add to that the complete 180 of DJ Qualls' attitude, which made no sense, it was like someone sat down to do a social experiment to see how bad of a show they could make and then try and get made. Was this a dare? Did someone at SyFy lose a bet and had to put this on as payment?
Shame on SyFy for disrespecting viewers with this garbage. I miss Eureka and Haven, shows that gave the viewer some modicum of respect.

This is by far the worst zombie show that's ever been made. The quality of the show looks shoddy and it's at times it's way too silly, goofy and dumb. It's a bunch of low B Class actors and actresses that can not act to save their own lives. Should've figured it would suck seeing how it's a SYFY channel original. Anything made by the Syfy channel is just crap. If you like movies like Sharknado then it might be up your alley. But if you're a grown up and enjoy real zombie shows then I suggest passing on this one. There's obviously a reason that it only made it through four seasons. And that reason is it sucks. This show doesn't come anywhere close to actual good shows like The Walking Dead or Black Summer.

Well I gave this show a couple of episodes as I thought it needed a chance to improve, but that was just a waste of 2 more hours of my time as it showed no improvement and actually it seemed to be getting worse as it went along.Acting is by most of the cast is really bad, I was told it was a take at another certain zombie show but I couldn't find the funny bits or any such resemblance to any of the popular zombie shows currently showing.
So I thought I might get on here at IMDb and leave a little warning to those people out there who hate wasting there time on shows like this just one word wraps this show up "Rubbish".

I have seen many dumb show. but God this is the worst. and I haven't seen TWD yet. So no comparing. But dude what was going on in the head of the writer and creators? they used UFO. Nuclear weapon and guess what anyone can run away from nuclear boom by run in a car or getting into a fridge. OMG the actors. Dude where did they find them? Overacting and overreacting. Low budget CGI. even a 10 year old boy can do better with 1 months of training. This shows creator or editor or writer should be banned from making anything. JUST WASTE OF TIME. people saying its funny. yes it is if you like FART JOKE.

I had high hopes for this show, before I actually saw it. This is from an American production company named "The Asylum." They given us other gems like Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies, Supercroc, Sharknado, Sharknado 2: The Second One and, of course, Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark. Their specialty is producing "mockbusters." That means when another, higher budget, producer has a hot idea they fabricate a cheap knockoff to try to catch some of the residual cash floating around (hence the Lincoln title mentioned above was released in tandem with Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter).
Z Nation would never exist without having The Walking Dead doing as well as it has. The only thing I'll say on behalf of this ersatz clone is that it makes me appreciate just how good The Walking Dead is.
It's nearly impossible to have a watchable zombie-apocalypse knock off. Why? Because, unlike other monster genres, a well-crafted zombie story doesn't focus on the monsters. It focuses on the surviving humans. To do that requires two very special effects that Z Nation will never have - good writing and good acting.

Terrible acting, idiotic characters that constantly feel the need to point out the obvious like they think we the audience are retarded, if you like good zombie movies or shows this is not for you. They try to be funny, but a series about the end of the world is not supposed to be funny. They try too hard and the result is just plain awful. I would give this 0/10 if I could. This looks like a parody of a zombie series. There is nothing in this worth watching at all. The stunts are completely unrealistic (in one scene, a guy kills a zombie that has a construction hard hat on, and he does it with a slingshot to the head!) and the "soldier" supposed to be in charge of communications in the only military base left is the biggest pussy you have ever seen (boohoo, I'm afraid to be alone!) I got sick to my stomach after watching the first 2 episodes and could not stand to watch anymore.
This WAS a playful rendition of the zombie phenomenon, however, their attempt at being a metaphorical show in the last couple of seasons is both sloppy and full of contradiction. The writing seems to have devolved into a high schoolesque creative writing class.

Where can I even begin? Z NATION is an all-too-obvious attempt at a cash-in on the success of the excellent AMC series, THE WALKING DEAD. Anyone who says otherwise, including Syfy, are either deluding themselves or straight-out lying.
"Z Nation" is one of the worst takes on biters (modern flesh-eating zombies to the general public) I have ever watched.
People always say to give something a chance before you judge it, be it a show or a film. As of now, two full seasons have been aired and the show is no better than it was in the beginning.
Z Nation has an undeniably cheapness to it. From the acting, to the directing, to the cinematography, to the editing, to the effects, to the makeup, you name it. Horrible. It also has a very depressing (and not in a good horror/zombie apocalyptic way) look and feel. The best way I can describe it is it feels as if it was made in a dollar store.
The show also tries very hard to be funny and fails miserably in every way imaginable. Most of the so-called "jokes" and one-liners fall flat. It's honestly embarrassing to watch some of this trash.
In a show or a movie based on fictional scenarios, I don't generally look for too much realism, but this show takes unrealistic to a whole new level. There should at least be a limit on how stupid you think your audience is.
Z Nation also unnecessarily parodies and mocks practically everything including zombies and horror. Even Christianity and other sensitive topics are mocked in a cringe-worthy way. The audience seems to be mocked for even being interested in a serious zombie drama in the first place, hence the ridiculousness of the whole thing.
The so-called "actors" on this show are terrible. None of them seem to have done much else, and I can see why.
This is also one of those shows where, after forcing yourself to finish an episode, you need to immediately watch something else to wash away the filth that you just watched.
Z Nation is an utter insult to fans of zombie films/shows and horror in general.
Avoid this show like the plague and re-watch THE WALKING DEAD instead.

How can people make such a bad job of a storyline with infinite possibilities? I mean Zombie apocalypse gives you the whole world to use and an infinite amount of characters to play with and develop.
Honestly this is the best you can do?
Pay peanuts and get monkeys springs to mind and this sums up Z Nation. There is very little to engage the viewer. I endured up to episode five and just had enough. When they started getting creative by going all'Good Morning Vietnam' with that annoying character, that just was a bridge too far (sorry too generalised for this show: I mean the particularly annoying eejit stuck in the base station with the dog not to be confused with the myriad of other eejits populating this show) .
Annoying characters. Hack storyline. Abysmal special effects. Definitely one for the brain dead :)
