Once again Akira Toriyama demonstrates that he is best qualified to write for Dragon Ball with his screenplay for Resurrection F. A strong following after the great Battle of Gods. Mr. Toriyama excels, giving us an action vibe rather than the screwball comedy from the last. In other words, back to typical Dragon Ball Z form after the change of pace from the previous entry(it is always good to mix it up every now and then.) With awesome battles, and a best of the Z fighters, it is win-win for Dragon Ball Z fans. Much like the preceding film, there are callbacks for the fans(the prior movie being more a tribute to Dragon Ball as a whole.) Of course the best call back would be bringing back fan favorite Frieza.
Set fourteen years after Frieza's death, and one year after Battle of Gods, the film starts with Frieza's former henchmen working to revive him. Upon his restoration he wants nothing but vengeance for his defeat at Goku's hands. Unfortunately Goku and Vegeta are not on Earth, so it is up to the other Z fighters to keep Frieza's army at bay until the pair return to start their epic battle with Frieza.
Great fights, impressive animation, very funny, and even some serious bits that add to the sense of palpable danger, Dragon Ball Z Resurrection F is a must see for fans of the series. If you have not seen Battle of Gods before this, then you should(considering Lord Beerus is introduced there.)

First a quick description of the show: Frieza is revived by the remnants of his army. He retreats back to his planet to train for months in preparation to exact his revenge against the Saiyans. Upon completion of his training, he brings the entirety of his army and invades Earth. This movie is so action packed from beginning to end and I'm so glad I watched this in theater. Just being there in the movie theater with all the DBZ fans cheering and cracking up was just a wonderful experience. The fight scene, music, and animation just went above and beyond my expectation.
I think the best aspect of this movie was when all the original DBZ characters got to show off their skills. Everyone from Master Roshi to Jaco the Galactic Patrolman had important and hilarious moments in this show. Without spoiling anything, a situation occurs in the show where the group divides up people to fight and they all showed their best skills. It wasn't one of those SPECIAL BEAM CANNON and then on to the next character kind of scenes. They all had a good amount of time spent on their fighting scenes and it's probably one of the best fan service moments I've ever seen. Even Vegeta, who is always being shown up by Goku, had really cool moments.
The movie kept along at a relaxed pace in the beginning, but definitely revved up at the end. You know in some fight scenes, they usually have those swift blurred lines with people throwing punches that symbolizes that they are throwing dozens of them. Well, it's not there anymore. They slowed down the punches and really shows you the detail and strength behind them. If there is one thing I would nitpick about this movie, it would be that there was basically no major develop. In the previous movie, "Battle Of The Gods", you get to discover Beerus who brings power levels to a whole new ballgame, you see a new transformation of Super Saiyan, and it developed the plot and let you know that there are much stronger people out in the universe. But for this movie, there wasn't any huge developments. I think it was more of an homage to Frieza, the final sendoff to a great DBZ character, and I'm OK with that.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this movie, to me it was damn near perfect. Give it a chance, you won't regret it!

I went to this movie without any expectations, cause internet was both kind and mean towards the trailer. I was also afraid that a typical DBZ episode would be put up on a giant screen, but it was not like other DBZ episodes or movies... This one blew me away. You simply cannot expect what would happen in the next scene.
All the minor characters got good character development, even Krillin! I was also surprised to find so many funny scenes in this movie, this movie had me laughing so hard right from the beginning. I was skeptical about Frieza at first, but he is the entire reason why this movie works so well. He is a great villain and they didn't portray him as a weakling in any single shot. They just showed the world again why Frieza is a force to be reckoned with and that's just all I need.
Goku and Vegeta's relationship has been explored a bit more, which I liked it a lot. Vegeta was not put aside and portrayed as the ultimate bad-ass that he is. For the first time he's not dominated by Goku! The action scenes involving Vegeta gave me goosebumps... Overall, the movie had a good pace, good character development especially Frieza and good amount of action and humor, making it a must-watch movie for all people who love DBZ.
