A very good movie that is maybe just tad a little sub-par from the first one, but it yet very funny and awesome.
The only negative I have on the movie is with Mariana Mazza. It shows that they wanted to make another funny cameo character like Louis-José Houde in the 1rst film, but that one was badly handled and her part felt to much forced and unfunny.
But, still a good movie! 8/10 !!!

Bon Cop, Bad Cop 2 (2017) This is a Canadian action-comedy sequel starring Colm Feore and Patrick Huard in a reprisal of their original roles. The film carries on the buddy cop formula. The two cops remained friends but gradually grew apart. They are reunited to investigate a car theft ring which turns out to be a front for a much bigger terrorist plot. It's being considered a strong sequel that just couldn't catch the lighting of the first, due to the 11 years between films. The only thing I thought was unnecessary was an illness angle. Other than that, I thought the chemistry was still there. The movie would have faired much better if it was released closer to the original.
If you didn't like the first movie then you shouldn't watch this one either because it's basically the same kind of movie. Just another cops versus bad guys story. A different story but nevertheless it's about the same. I did like the first one and so did I again with the sequel. The chemistry between the English speaking Canadian Colm Feore and the French speaking Canadian Patrick Huard still works. And again like in the first movie I barely didn't understand anything of that Canadian French. And French is my first language as a Belgian. That says enough about how weird it is to us to hear them speak. I was glad there were subtitles because the only language I understood clearly was the English. It's a lighthearted cop comedy in the same genre as Lethal Weapon but instead of a black cop and a white cop you just have a French speaking and a English speaking cop. It worked for Lethal Weapon and it also works for Bon Cop, Bad Cop.
In A Nutshell: The story was NOT as good as with the first movie and really fizzles at the end BUT the interplay between the Anglophone and Francophone Canadian cops is LOTS OF FUN. If you liked BCBC 1, then it's WORTH THE WATCH. If you have not watched BCBC 1, then correct that immediately before watch episode 2 - it is hilarious!
The first Bon Cop Bad Cop played a lot on the humour of Quebec French meet Ontario English with a theme well known and love by every Canadians of every language, Hockey.
I had a little fear this second instalment was not gonna be as funny as the first one due of this hockey parody theme now gone, and the fact that both actor have aged quite a bit, but i was WRONG. Its as good as the first one and in some parts even surpass it.
Obviously in Quebec we don't have the budget of the American industry, so do not go see it hoping for a ton of special effects and explosions or stuff like that. There is some action but it is before everything else a comedy and in that regard it stand as a very good one and maybe even better than recent American comedies. It remind me a bit of Lethal Weapon with more humour and less action.
Honestly i don't go see much of our own Quebec Productions as i am spoiled by the Hollywood big budget industry, but when i rented the first one i really loved it, i bough the DVD and i watched many time, so i promised myself i was gonna see this one in theatre and i am very happy i did.
