This was just by far one of the worst pretentious pieces of s...t made Why are they still making crap like this amazes me. This was just awful The acting was ridiculous the story stupid and my time was wasted. To all the actors involved...you guys suck major...ass
"Simon" (Dalton Edward Phillips) and "Peg" (Tony Vespe) are two high school nerds who are essentially shunned by all of the girls and bullied by some of the boys. So, to masquerade their loneliness, Peg convinces Simon to create an iPhone app which can trick those around them into thinking they each have a real girlfriend. Yet even though it works to a certain degree at first, when Simon accidentally spills a highly potent energy drink onto his laptop in the process, a young woman named "Lilly" (Kelsey Pribilsky) is created who simply adores him. But when Peg decides to upgrade Lilly's qualities, things rapidly spiral out-of-control. Now rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this film started off in the right direction but took a wrong turn about halfway through and ended with a twist that left me greatly disappointed. That being said, while I strongly recommend the movie "Weird Science" which parallels this film to a certain degree, I cannot do the same for this particular picture, and for that reason I have rated it accordingly. Below average.
Guy invents girlfriend, hilarity ensues. Guy rights the wrong done; learns life lessons in the process. Movie ends.
A classic movie recipe in the 80's with 'Weird Science', in iGirlfriend our story is resurrected using modern day tech: fictional iPhone app vs fictional science.
Plot, acting, direction....I won't even waste any more of your time reviewing iGirlfriend except to say the movie is horrible.
Its not even in the "so bad its good" category - its just bad. Don't waste your time with this.

It came across like a "Weird Sience" rip off (which it actually is!) and this movie is bad, the acting is bad, like i said, the story itself is a rip-off. Don't waste your time!
This movie is a mockery of the digital arts. It makes the art of Photoshop and hacking falsely look like a cake walk. Also, kids this agree don't develop iPhone apps. The SDK is too expensive and so are the phones. They'd be using Android phones. Yeah, the movie has bad acting, audio mixing, and cinematography, but the worst thing about it is the insult to people who make the world a better place through tech.
