Absolutely the worst series not only on air today, but ever. Dreadful casting, dreadful acting, dreadful story line.. its just plain dreadful. I simply do not care how "real" it looks and "feels" as other reviews say... any show solely relying on shock for ratings violent desensitizing dumbed down depraved sexual acts is a big fail in my book. There is absolutely no substance here. This is not entertainment in the least bit.

OH boy! A penis here, a penis there, even fake penises, there's a penis everywhere! We get it now HBO, you just love shoving penises in viewers faces. When all else fails, show a penis! And here I thought HBO working with the shock for ratings hipster tabloid Vice was bad... HBO has now sunk to an all time low with this complete and utter garbage.

Watched about 10 minutes of episode 1. To be frank, the whole show looks like a pathetic costume party. It doesn't help that it uses a bunch of actors known from The Wire, Oz and other C-list Hollywood stars that are hard to take seriously. I found it very hard to maintain interest in the show and pretty much just wrote it off at that point as another HBO clunker of a drama. It's such a shame. I always give HBO shows a chance because of their past reputation. I don't know how they could ever approve of junk like this. TNT, Netflix and other channels are knocking it out of the park but this is the best HBO has aside from Game of Thrones? Sad how the mighty have fallen.

I guess I'm in the minority in that I think Franco is maybe the only good thing in this series. The rest is just bleh! And maybe, meh! While the show has the look of the era, the cast seems cartoonish at best. Not one visually appealing cast member. Impossible to watch any episode in one sitting. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

This is a game of two shows. The half with the Martino brothers and the gangsters is excellent and entertaining for the purposes of just that. The half with Jake's sister is just her trying to use this platform to spew political and feminist bull to the masses. It's sad to see an actress try to use her platform for her own selfish desires. Her acting is even hard to watch....because she's not acting...

Whatever adding Isabel Pakzad as part of the crew. That just drove the show to the bottom of the barrel!!
