    Uriel

Arrivée d'un nouveau personnage intéressant... Décidément on adore la famille de Lucifer !

    Adding backstory and emotional growth

Love the emotional range showed in this episode but I don't know why they cast Michael Imperioli as Uriel if he's supposed to be a younger brother of lucifer and amenadiel. Whilst a terrific actor, he is clearly a lot older.

    Better

Better mystery, improvement on the Lucifer family drama and emotional realism with some heart to hearts and confessions. It was a bit weird with Lucifer fanning over an action movie.

    God's Will

Detective Chloe Decker and Mazikeen would certainly not be each other's ideas for a perfect 'Buddy', but certainly its needs must as the Devil drives in their cases, as Chloe Decker's pending divorce and, Mazikeen's decision to have some space drove them together.

Amenadiel was extremely worried that Lucifer's method of honouring his promise, to his dad regarding his mum might not work, and God may decide to take back his part of the deal.

Lucifer Morningstar has one hell of a family and he discovered, just how much by the arrival on earth of yet another of his siblings Uriel, it transpired that Amenadiel was correct in his assumptions, and Uriel is his messenger.

But is it really just that simple, or does the weaker brother of the heavenly clan Uriel, have ulterior motives all of his own, if so then what axe may he really have to grind?

All of the World's religions owe their very existences to the spurious premiss, that they have 'The Hot Line to God' and that, they and they alone are the 'True Disciples' and are carrying out his 'Will'.

But of course they are really only relying on the gullibility, of their flocks to hold onto the religious nostrum, that the only way to truly believe is to have faith.

    Grief and Grace Personified

Too often in film and TV the grieving process is wildly overblown or deeply melodramatic

This is only the second show I have seen where the grief displayed by the actor is so keen, so visceral that it makes your heart ache for them. The first was Romy Rosemont's gut wrenching performance as Finn Hudson's mum Carol as she sorted through his things in Glee's "The Quarterback".

And now we can add the stellar performance of Tom Ellis as Lucifer to that mix. The final scene of this episode personifies the brilliance of the writers and Tom as an actor. His entire performance makes you feel Lucifer's loss and unspeakable grief and guilt of what had just happened. The breathless keening of a truly hurting soul rips at your heart.... 10/10

    • Trivia
The book that Chloe reads to Trixie is Coraline by Neil Gaiman. The character of Lucifer as seen in the series was introduced by Gaiman in his comic book series The Sandman.
    • Goofs
Chloe says that the victim was a karate instructor. All the characters on the wall however are Korean, not Japanese, indicating it is a taekwondo studio, not a karate studio.
    • Quotes

Lucifer Morningstar: For the next day or so, I'm going to need you to be unpredictable. Whatever you normally do, just do the opposite.

Chloe Decker: Too bad. I was totally going to have sex with you today.

      Lucifer Morningstar: Really?

      [Smiles, then realizes]

Lucifer Morningstar: ... Oh. Well played, Detective.
