"Praktan" feels like a delightful mixture of enchanting melodies, contagious nostalgia, and heartfelt exploration of an "imperfect relationship" that's been tucked away for too long.
The story resonates surprisingly well because, first, it neatly captures the struggles as well as dilemmas faced by middle-class couples, and second, the messages are delivered in a clear and uncontrived way, creating a harmony that makes it easy for a broad audience to connect with.
Having said that I also believe that this easy accessibility may have limited the film's true potential.
The overbearing simplicity sometimes kept the writing from reaching higher emotional margins, so while it had the right elements, the drama and emotions did not quite soar as high as they could.
Moreover, the choice to introduce three differently aged couples to represent three stages of marriage was a lovely idea, but the writing lacked substance to give them equal space and tie them together into a cohesive narrative.
It might have been more productive to focus solely on the group of Sudipa, Ujaan, and Malini.

It is a very sweet and touching story where you get to know the differences in perspective of the two different people in a relationship/ marraige where the fault is of no one.
A very well made movie. The complexities of relationship between husband-wife was demonstrated in an articulated way. The movie ultimately gave some important messages- patience and compromise (for both husband and wife) are crucial to sustain a marriage. The last scene with the poem was heart touching.
I'm giving it a 9 star because the comedy of Anupom Roy was very bad. He should not do acting.
Pratan is one of the best films of this era and quite worthy to watch
Praktan is one of the best works the tollywood industry had ever seen. The characters played by each of the actors are notably fabulous and most of them had shown real maturity of acting and made the characters beautifully realistic. The story telling was really very good and the direction also deserves a great round of applause. The movie deals with the ups and downs faced in a relationship and also has a great message for all the budding lovers out there that what sort things must be avoided to build a healthy relationship. Apart from all the drama and romance and good music, this movie has a real treat of funny moments. Therefore I would really urge all the movie lovers out there who still have not watched this movie to check it out. This movie would become a classic a few years down the line.
