For a second I thought I was watching the wrong show. This episode was absolutely ridiculous and doesn't fit the show at all. It felt like watching a low-budget superhero movie. Disappointing episode for an otherwise great show. It's a shame this was included, it really should have never been made. In my opinion, a complete waste of time.
I'll mirror many of the other reviews, the weak link in the series. It does offer a perspective of what could have been for El. However, it's not anywhere near the quality of the previous episodes. So it will fill some space and maybe offer something to think about...but I'm ready to get back to the real story.
I have no idea why they did this, they could've built Jane's character without introducing four bad actors and making us sit through a thankfully short merry go round. None of those new characters were likable, The short story was very predictable it was very unlike the quality that stranger things tends to offer. It felt like i had accidentally turned on one of those bad marvel shows.
Pretty much the only episode of this show I'd consider filler. In an otherwise great TV show, they for some reason wanted to spend an entire episode following one character. You can honestly skip it and not much is different.

- TriviaThe music used when Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) and her gang are preparing to leave to find Ray (Pruitt Taylor Vince) is from the deleted Bank Heist scene from Escape from New York (1981), composed by John Carpenter.
- GoofsJust after arriving in Chicago, Eleven looks the wrong way when crossing the street. This is because Millie Bobby Brown is British and they drive on the opposite side of the street.
