The Last Ship was sailing smoothly in season 1,2 and 3 but in season 4 the things got escalated. The war for the hunt of Mexican War Lord takes and drastic turn. In the final battle once, the battleship almost destroyed the Nathen James and she was sinking, her main engines were destroyed, the navigation system went dark and her propulsion was out of order; and suddenly we saw the sinking vessel started moving at high speed and went straight in to the battleship and destroying it thereby sinking both the ships was a complete fluke. As the navigator and the engine operator both said that the ship is sinking then how come? It started moving was not understood. In a complete destruction of both ships, the captain mercilessly surfaced and was saved. It seems that the TNT was low on budget in the season finale and just hosh poshed the series in the end.
This last season of the last ship had many stumbles, but the finale was really good. Knowing a series is ending vs being canceled off the cuff generally helps to create a good conclusion and they didn't try to keep people alive but rather let them go generally in ways that moved the story along.
Not sure why another reviewer didn't like it because there was nothing specific, but I think their being willing to let the cast go, ship demise, bringing back some ghosts, and in the last few eps giving a good presentation of what war looks like.
The Chandler ship sequence was total bull and solely theatrical which was a great disservice that should have been cut.
Otherwise, I'm sure the timing to air on Veteran's Day was intentional and made me proud to be a Navy vet.
I loved this show but to end it like this with so many unanswered questions and unresolved storylines?
Seriously...what the hell?
Seriously...what the hell?
Please, tell me that this is not how they finished this show... What the hell? So many unresolved storylines and the fact that they didn't include Rhona Mitra for a final cameo is such let-down.
The ending was like summarising without have time to summarize everything boring
