I really did not expect much from this flick, just wanted some entertainment, some unusual film. This is, where the movie did deliver. But it is not the kind of movie I would recommend or tell other people how good it is. Because it is not good. It is real trash. But perfect for people who enjoy this kind of trash.
Rating: 3/10. I think whoever made this had an idea for a single scene and tried to make a whole movie out of it. That scene, the first one, was actually pretty good; reminded me of Hobo with a Shotgun, but from there, it completely fell apart. If you watch it, just watch the beginning.
Survival lesson to be learned: Just because someone turns their back to you, does not mean you can let down your guard. You never know when they might have a machine-gun-wielding dwarf in their backpack.
This is a movie that might've been cool had it been released 30 years ago and called Duke Nukem. But in today's standards, it's ok for a bit and then runs out of steam quickly. It's action needs to find a balance between comedy and cartoon, and work out what is supposed to be funny about things like a woman with a moustache?
You will never kick yourself for passing on this one.
And I must say that "Bullets of Justice" from writers Valeri Milev and Timur Turisbekov is a strange movie, nay, a weird movie. There was, however, something very unique and enjoyable about it at the same time. Now, the weird part was the storyline, because it was all over the place and there wasn't all that much meat on the storyline actually, but come the ending of the movie, it was actually a nice turn of events and quite a twist to the storyline. And the enjoyable parts of the movie was the grindhouse-feel that it had to it, and also all the things that were just over-the-top strange and bizarre.
I suppose that director Valeri Milev's movie is either you like it or not. I don't think that "Bullets of Justice" has any middle ground given the uniqueness of the entire movie. Either you're in or you're out...
As for Danny Trejo being in the movie, yeah, don't get your hopes up. He wasn't even in the movie for 5 minutes, but I suppose his face and name does work well to lure in the audience. It worked on me, after all. "Bullets of Justice" is a mixed bag of acting performances, because some were actually putting on good performances while others were just cringeworthy to look at and listen to.
The visual presentation of "Bullets of Justice" was definitely a factor that helped win me over, because that gritty grindhouse sensation that permeated from the movie was just worked well in favor of it all. As for the special effects, well the practical effects were good enough, but the CGI effects were shoddy and dubious to be honest.
I was actually enjoying "Bullets of Justice", after getting over the initial "what the..." feeling I had as the movie was just getting started. I can recommend you sit down to watch it and let it win you over. Don't just give up at the beginning of the movie, because once you're over that sense of disbelief, then the movie actually becomes enjoyable.
My rating of "Bullets of Justice" is a six out of ten stars.
Now even that is a fine line to walk. I can't decide for you, if that movie achieves that goal in your view. I think it does more often than not (yes some things do not hit home). Overall this is as silly as it can get and there is quite a lot of violence ... and it is also made so there can be sequels ... More of this mayhem? That's either yey or nay - you decide
