Scarecrow

Erm maybe I'm missing something here or maybe it's far too early to judge after just one episode but the ratings of 10/10 and funniest comedy ever are baffling.

I watched The Office many years ago and it's presentation was original and often very funny if very cringy at times.

This Country though just feels like they've tried the same idea but in a rural setting which really doesn't make enough difference for me. The lad is played, sounds and looks so much like Gareth from the Office that is should be done for plagiarism. Even to the point of some of his phrases.

It is trying too hard to be funny but in episode one, I chuckled just the once. For 30 minutes of a comedy that ain't enough. The question is, is it worth watching anymore......

This country is a documentary style comedy which is set in a rural area Cotswold with two main characters Kerry and Lee. It's very similar in style to the much beloved show the office. Kerry and Lee are brother and sister and often bored or trouble in a village where so little happens. However in this particular episode Lee is keen to win the local scarecrow building competition. Meanwhile Kerry has a representation to uphold for being known as the village hard-nut, or so she see herself!

Pretty well script first episode showing the ego of both main characters whilst bringing them both back down to earth when things go wrong. Very natural acting and very true to life on their takes of characters living in a village in the uk. Reverend a close friend, who keeps Kerry and Lee in check whilst running the scarecrow competition appears to be a good influence and the icing on the cake.

Kurtan and Kerry are the main focus for this comedy set in the costwolds.

It's the big scarecrow competition, and Kurtan is desperate to win it, he's happy to do whatever it takes.

I've never really fancied it, but I was wrong, it was excellent, very funny, and I love the two main characters, the humour is very earthy, and very real. I loved the Dalek scarecrow.

There's nothing left that hasn't been plummed, that had me absolutely howling.

A very funny start, 8/10.

Kerry and Lee are teenagers living in a small village in the Cotswolds. The Scarecrow festival is the highlight of the year, and Lee is convinced he will win as he has the best pitch, but he hasn't counted on a scarecrow darlek. Kerry has issues and isn't happy when her house gets plummed! Short in a documentary style this is a very funny view of small village life in the middle of no where.
