Through the Decades

I loved to watch this show on FRNDLY TV to 'reel in the years' but have not seen the show in a while and wondered if it still airing/streaming? Bill reminded me a lot of the late Robert Osborne, who hosted the long-time TCM movie nights. Kerry and Ellen were also great! Would love to see TTD episodes featuring the 1960s decade if available, especially 1969 which was was such a memorable year for me as a 10-year old? However, I can't find any information anywhere and/or if the episodes are available on DVD? Can someone help me please? I'd really like to watch again but don't know how. Thanks, Bobby Thompson.

This is a good documentary series highlighting events that took place on a host of different dates. I find it, however, to be more Californian-focused than it should be. It's geographic bias is my only issue with this otherwise excellent and informative show.

Both the idea for the show and the execution are masterful. The old news footage shown has a way of grabbing your attention in a way that a textbook just can't. The selection of events covered in the show helps keep the viewers attention, meandering between different decades, and touching on both pop culture and a wide variety of other newsworthy events from the inspirational to the upsetting.

If I had any suggestion for improvements it would be to let the co-hosts take center stage more often.

"bobbietnc" asked many months ago if "Through the Decades" was still on.

The program was a nightly feature on the "Decades" (sub-channel) digi-net which the reviewer watched via FrndlyTV.

"Through the Decades" left the air in March 2023 when the "Decades" network changed format and became "Catchy Comedy" -- which as a "digi-net" is available over-the-air in local TV markets across the country.

Bill Kurtis hosted "TTD". He was a CBS News reporter/anchor back in the 60's thru 80's and some of the archival footage featured him as the "street" reporter.

It's too bad it was cancelled because it WAS a well put-together series.

"Through the Decades" was never available on purchasable media.
