Ghostly good fun
An enjoyable series of linked stories set in a real Ipswich hotel. The stories vary from the atmospheric, to more spooky with some gentle British humour in between.
Rather boring and uneven
This compendium might only prove that using eight directors, eight writers, and four editors produces a result that doesn't hold together very well. Some of the segments are quite atmospheric but none are scary or even chilling in the least. This is the kind of "horror" movies that you can't show your kids because they will leave the room rolling their eyes and making fun of you. Only one segment was really scary and that was due to the 1960s wallpaper.
Different
I enjoyed this. It's always intriguing to see what can be achieved on a low budget and this delivers some excellent and quirky stuff. Well done to all involved. Hope it does well.
Not scary but entertaining enough
If you're a fan of Inside Number 9 you will appreciate the format and the dark humour. However it doesn't quite measure up to the tv series in terms of cleverness, or scary. But an entertaining watch nonetheless.
Not scary, but very good
Don't watch this if you're looking for scares. If you want to be entertained for an hour or so, give it a go. The acting is good as are the storylines. Nice short little segments.

- TriviaThe film was shot entirely on location at the (now closed) Great White Horse Hotel in Ipswich, UK, which dates back at least as far as the 17th century. The quote at the beginning of the film which begins "Never was such labyrinths..." is taken from Charles Dickens' novel 'The Pickwick Papers', and is directly referencing the hotel.
- Alternate versionsThe UK release was cut, the distributor requested cuts in order to obtain their preferred classification. Images of strong injury detail were removed in order to obtain a 12A classification. An uncut 18 classification was available.
