It started out pretty good. Cool jump scenes, an ok story. And then maybe 40 minutes into it. The entire narrative shifted from extreme athlete type movie to a nonsensical horror movie with bad makeup and a ridiculous plot. Even the acting got worse, or at least it seemed to.
It's gotten so bad that I'm writing this review with 28 minutes left in the movie playing in the background. 3 stars for scenery and jumps.
In keeping with the 600 character limit:

I stumbled upon the 2022 horror movie "Hex" by random chance. I must admit that I liked the movie's cover/poster, as it looked interesting. But I had never heard about "Hex" prior to watching it, so I didn't know what I was in for, aside from the short synopsis given.
But as it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to sit down and watch directors Chris Johnston and Andy Malchiodi's movie "Hex".
And seriously, what were the film makers thinking here? Has the creative Hollywood spring run so dry that we are now at a point where a sky dive can be cursed and serve as a focal point for a horror movie? It would turn out so. And writer Hans Rodionoff delivered one of the most laughably bad and downright ridiculous plots for a script that I have ever stumbled upon. I mean, a cursed sky dive move? Seriously? It was ludicrous, and not even bad in a way where it becomes funny and cheesy to watch. No, this was just depressingly sad and ridiculous.
I wasn't familiar with the cast in "Hex", and I am sure that there were some fair enough talents among the actors and actresses that starred in this movie, but they virtually had nothing to work with from writer Hans Rodionoff.
Visually then I am sure that there are some audience members that will get a kick out of this movie, as there is an extensive amount of sky diving footage. Personally, I don't find any fascination about sky diving, as I think it is just stupid to get up in an airplane, strap on a parachute and jump out of the airplane. But hey, all a matter of taste and preference. So yeah, there was little enjoyment to be had here.
"Hex" is without a doubt one of the dumbest movies I have stumbled upon. And the movie doesn't get better the longer you stick with it. So take my advice here and don't waste your time, money or effort on this dumpster fire of a movie. Some of us wasted 88 minutes of our lives on this movie so you don't have to.
The best thing about "Hex" was its cover/poster, and it is over-selling the movie by a landslide.
My rating of "Hex" lands on a one out of ten stars.

This movie is about a group of "hexed" skydivers experiencing paranormal events.
The best part if this movie is that this is the exact place my son sky dived for the first, and only, time to celebrate turning 21.
It was awesome to see the place we hung out at all day while waiting for his turn. Plus, we've lived in Orange County all of our lives and are intimately acquainted with the roads and topography of the area; Lake Also more, CA.
The movie is, ummm, adequate if you're bored and can't find anything else. Fairly tropical cookie cutter characters. Exactly what was bringing on the spooky suff had us guessing.

It really sux when you spend a ton of money making the cover look so attractive and you don't spend as much on the movie itself. ((Facepalm)). Suggestion: In the future, just make a b&w cover that says (Movie). That would suffice in this case for sure. π€’. Or maybe just don't make the movie and fake people I to believing that it might be good when it's absolutely not. Sorry to be so harsh, but I didn't not understand how everything passes as a movie these days. It used to be that it was a coveted thing to be called a movie. Now it's whatever you can record on your phone and mass distribution with a fancy cover gets by? Gah!
While watching the first part, I was all set to give it a 2/10 or 3/10 rating. The skydiving scenes look good but there's not a whole lot else going on here. The premise of an evil skydiving formation is a bit iffy to begin with and they don't sell the menace of it very well. It just comes across as kind of silly. There is a lot of stuff that seems nonsensical and disjointed as it is happening. A lot of this makes sense in retrospect once you get to the end of the movie and the reveal. You have to sit through a lot of talky scenes and out of nowhere stuff to get there though. The eventual revelation does a pretty good job of tying it all together though and raised my score for this movie considerably. You have to watch to the very end to get that payoff though.
