    Excellent

I must say this series is great ,i love che complex story and those kids really know how to act.Doctor Smith is a real villain, you know from the start who is a good character and who is the evil one.In the sci fi shows of the last years, except this one, almost everybody is a villain ,a thing which is becoming a real cliche.

    Distance measurements . . .

Why do they keep referring to the millions of light years left to traverse? Alpha Centauri is 4.37 light years from earth.

    Still in Disaster Survival Mode

This episode picks up right where episode two left off - our crash survivors are still trying to get out of the ice. We continue to get flashback glimpses of what brought our characters together as the Robinsons and Ms Smith struggle to survive. This is a largely dark episode (danger presses in from the outside and blooms out from the inside) in color scheme and blends science fiction with a monster movie feel - which was actually rather fun. While suspension of disbelief is a requirement for any good sci fi tale, this one had way to many practical nonsensical elements to feel plausible (because, yes, it's easier to believe in shape-shifting robots than a computer system that doesn't have alarms when people hit potentially life-threatening buttons...), but the family's progress (personal and otherwise) was ultimately a solid addition to the continuing saga.

    Infestation is an improvement.

This entertained me a lot more than the first two episodes. All the characters Problems are getting bigger as the stakes are getting higher.

This is a step in the right direction and is the best episode so far in my mind.

what an inspired bit of casting with parker posey

I really, secretly want her to break into a rousing rendition of "Teacher's Pet" - her audition piece from Waiting for Guffman while she screws everyone over a la Dr. Smith. How shady will she get - who knows. This is only 3 episodes in. I have a feeling when Don West shows up again, he isn't going to be so happy to see Dr. Smith.

The quality is increasing as we go, which usually happens with sci-fi. People get more comfortable with characters and the plots go a bit deeper. I'm hopeful this will turn out well. Netflix hasn't had many stumbles. I mean, unless orcs show up.....

    • Trivia
Maureen comments that she thinks they are several trillion light years away from the Milky Way galaxy, which puts them far beyond the boundary of the observable universe, that is the part of the universe that is visible from Earth. The observable universe is about 46 billion light years in diameter, and thanks to a refined understanding of the curvature of space-time from the BOOMERanG experiment in the late 1990's, astrophysics have been able to estimate the size of the entire universe to be at least 14 trillion light years. Which means less than 0.0001% of the volume of the Universe is presently or will ever be observable to us.
