    Get Lucy!

"The Princess of Darkness" takes Disenchantment further into its quirky, dark fantasy world as Princess Bean grapples with her reputation and destiny, all while navigating the influences of her loyal demon, Luci. This episode leans into themes of rebellion and self-discovery as Bean, still struggling with her role in Dreamland, tries to embrace her inner "darkness" to break free from societal expectations.

There are some great comedic moments here, especially between Bean and Luci, whose devil-may-care attitude provides some hilarious encouragement. Elfo's unwavering optimism continues to clash amusingly with Bean's cynicism, and the trio's friendship feels like it's starting to settle into a unique rhythm. The episode's animation style and fantasy setting add a fun visual layer, enhancing the scenes where Bean tries to live up to her "Princess of Darkness" title with mixed results.

However, the episode feels a bit scattered. The story tries to balance Bean's character development with gag-based side plots, which can make the main storyline feel unfocused at times. While there's potential for depth in Bean's journey, the episode leans more on quick jokes than meaningful progression, which leaves her character arc feeling somewhat underwhelming.

Overall, "The Princess of Darkness" offers some laughs and quirky character moments, but it doesn't quite rise to the level of a memorable or impactful episode. With a 6 out of 10, it's a solid, entertaining entry that hints at Bean's potential growth, even if it doesn't fully deliver on it yet. Fans of the series will likely enjoy the humor and fantasy elements, but it's not the most gripping or polished episode of the series.

    "I'm drowning!" "I'm Elfo!"

Gosh darn teenagers always robbing the family crypt.

Aww. The demons are like evil liquor bottles. Oh! So alcohol is like a metaphor!

Wait! What?! Demons, as has been already established, are unaffected by fire.

The first good episode so far in season 1...

I giggled twice. That's actually pretty good as far as comedy goes.

Could be better. Maybe the problem is that there was too many different scenes and lack of concentration to one. I didn't like this episode very much. With amazing start it's getting worse, that's pretty disappointing.

The police horse has a vane-powered flashing light on its head. In the first shot there are three vanes; in subsequent shots there are two.
