I enjoyed the first episode. It sets out two line that we know will connect. Both lines have sympathetic lead characters Pine a down on his luck reporter, who could be a composite of lead character in the best Noir films. Eisley is the poor, lost, innocent soul, adopted as a baby and brought up in the countryside trying to connect with her natural (and rich) family in LA.
It all seems very promising and I will be definitely been watching the next episodes.
I have sort of ruined it for myself by researching the people. Right now after the first episode I really wish I had avoided the temptation to Google the real characters. I have the feeling the director will let the secret out of the bag quite quickly but if you can avoid researching them I believe it will enhance your experience.

In my opinion this series has potential to be a good show. I mean, it seems to deal around the Black Dahlia case, so what's better than that right? Love the photography and some of the acting, other no so much. For instance that of the main character Fauna Hodel's "mother". It just seem a bit over the topp and off at times, which is a pity since I think she could've been miscast. You'll probably like this show if you're into noir novels or comics. To name a one that seemed to serve as somehow an inspiration "The Fade Out" by Ed Brubaker...

Loved the first two episodes, mainly the raymond chandler like ambience. There is a problem with the actors: Pine will never be a Marlowed style character and India, well she just isn't too good at it. The rest is great. But at the end of each episode they show photos of the real life characters they are portraying. Obviously, in this day in age, we all go and google it and, almost without wanting, we come to see what happened and the rest of the series is seriously spoiled.

Looks like this might be pretty good. Acting is great, storyline great, love the era.... I mean how can you go wrong. Let's hope it stays that way until the end! Looking forward to this coming out weekly.

A teenage girl and a disgraced journalist find themselves drawn into a web of secrets revolving around 1950s Los Angeles' most infamous cold case.
Stars: Chris Pine, India Eisley There's a fearful intelligence and stubborn innocence in Eisley's portrayal of the Fauna. The parts of the TV drama that stick closest to the facts are the most satisfying, and the two lead performances

I honestly was not expecting it to leave a good an impression as it has. Definitely one of the best performances of Chris Pine's career. The series was thrilling, good performances all around. Dragged just a little towards the end. I really hope Sam, Patty and Chris join forces together to bring more quality stories and series to life.

I gave this a 8 because the acting was that good. The subject matter was interesting also like in a crime novel. Like a lot of people have already stated it is so painfully slow. I think this would have made a excellent movie, not 6 drawn out episodes. I did binge watch this but it took all that I had to do so..even if I liked it which I did but, it was like watching paint dry...

A breathtaking story based on Fauna Hodel's own true crime memoir, with a great production that truly takes us back to the 60's with props and sets, every scene is just stunning to look at. With having no knowledge of the events and George Hodel I found myself doing some research before watching the show and it helped a lot, overall interesting to do research on. The mini series had some great writing and directing from Patty Jenkins and the others, the whole crew did amazing work in creating a unique experience for a television show.
The ensemble cast was great, the three that stood out the most was Chris Pine, India Eisley and Jefferson Mays. I could easily watch a prequel that focuses on George Hodel as Jefferson did such an interesting and fantastic performance.

One thing is bothering throughout the episodes - there were no Louboutins in the 60s..
Is really annoying to see the red sole when they were not even around
Other than that.. so far so good

I never saw any teenagers dress the way they are portrayed in this series in 1965. Maybe 1945 but definitely not 65.

Very interesting story but too slow. I watched 4 episodes so far and it starts to be boring, looks like it doesn't move forward.
