I'll keep it short and sweet. Little Monsters offered nothing we haven't all seen before.
I chuckled just once or twice in the entire film, while most of the audience (who were quite drunk) laughed hysterically at nothing.
Using an F-Bomb in every other line gets tiresome really quickly, and the joke that they're swearing in front of kids the whole time also got stale. The writing was generally poor.
I could go on for a lot longer, but it's just not really worth it.
Shaun of the Dead it ain't. Derivative it is.

Alright, first off, let's just say that I managed to sit through the whole movie, which is a feat in itself. I saw the trailer for this and was like "Oh, a quirky zom-com with Lupita Nyong'o! Could be fun!"
It wasn't fun.
First off, Lupita does a great job.... in the tiny role she's given. She doesn't appear for the first 30 min of a 90 min movie. Instead we get to follow David, the stealth protagonist that I don't recall ever seeing in the trailer, and for good reason. David is the definition of a garbage human being. The movie opens with him arguing with his girlfriend and it just drags on and on and on. He has no motivation, no social skills, mooches off his girlfriend and sister, and is all around awful in every conceivable way. And he's the main character...
Skip ahead, we have the school trip to the zoo where the zombie infestation congregates as we get introduced to Kid's TV Show host, Teddy. Turns out he's not the nice guy he plays on TV. And that's the problem. Josh Gad does a solid job acting wise, BUT the ONLY reason that Teddy even appears in this film is to be a worse character than David in an attempt to make him look better by contrast.
And then we have the writing around Ms. Caroline... Lupita is always stellar, but even she couldn't save this trainwreck of a character. She is only in this story as a balance to the two horrible male leads. She's essentially superhuman, often running headlong into a zombie horde and emerging unscathed. But what about her character growth? Oh that. She reveals she's not actually perfect and had a problematic youth just like David in his adulthood.
So, you reach the end of the film with nobody improving or growing, or anything whatsoever.
Final Verdict 3/10 if only for the acting, which was fine. But there's nothing else about the movie to make it worth your time.

I saw this in a "Sneak Preview" and I left after 45'. I was not the first to leave.
It started badly with two people arguing. Imagine that, two people you don't know arguing loudly about things you don't understand. I can't think of a worse way to start a film. Was it meant to be funny? It was just really annoying.
There are lots of "F" words being used in the presence of young children. Swearing doesn't bother me, but it did seem very inappropriate in these circumstances.
The plot involves a school trip to a children's zoo which then becomes overrun by zombies.
It's not funny or scary, just very stupid.
I then decided to leave, realised that it was raining heavily, considered returning but decided getting soaked was the better option.

It's not great, and the tone is all over the place, but it is entertaining enough if you have some free time
Same rom-com scenario as usual: a loser guy living his loser live until he meets his love and try to impress her with some loser tricks.
Zombies? Just entourage.
Only several funny moments and the singing zombies made me give it 3 stars.

Number one rule of screenwriting - DON'T WRITE AN UNLIKEABLE, UNREDEEMABLE PROTAGONIST.
This movie couldn't even do the simple act of making the main protagonist like-able in any form or fashion. It's one thing to have a broken, troubled protagonist who is good on the inside but going through a rough patch but this...this guy is a terrible person inside and out and I don't care about what happens to him.
If I don't care about the characters and what happens to them then why would I keep watching?

I really wanted to like this movie, Lupita Nyong'o is awesome, the concept is very Cooties and I like Josh Gad for this. 17 mins in though and the white male Aussie protagonist is so repulsive I just want to punch myself in the head. The thought that this creepy arse wanker being the focus of this movie repulses me. I honestly thought this was another movie from the trailer, sure it may come good, but I am not investing in that. No I am walking away.

Not likable main character. You can see the plot from far away. It brings nothing to the genre, zombie apocalypse happens, they run, they hide, there is a bad guy, and the rest I don't know... I turned of the movie at this point...
Complete disappointment. Don't waste your time with this.

Lupita's worst movie. Boring and the story is so basic. No suspense in any scene at all.

It had potential but fell short. It wasn't overly funny, story seemed to be just thrown together. A couple of the actors/actress managed to save the film from being a disaster.
