The film B. Tech is a cinematic work belonging to the romantic drama thriller genres, directed by Mridul Nair.
The narrative commences with the introduction of Azaad, a young individual who enrols in an engineering college in Bangalore. He subsequently becomes part of a group of Malayali students who have been pursuing their supply exams for an extended period. The group's primary gathering place is a Malayali hotel situated in front of the college. Azaad is depicted as an innocent character from a disadvantaged background who demonstrates academic excellence. However, the group members are experiencing a decline in their academic motivation.
The film then focuses on campus life, including classes, examinations, conflicts, romance and leisure activities. Once, the group visits Azaad's village and learns that he was raised in an orphanage and has only a sister. His financial needs are met by natives. In the second half, Azaad is killed in a bomb blast after returning from the village. The police then accuse Azaad and the other Muslims in the gang, despite a lack of concrete evidence. In response, the students organise protests and various programmes, seeking to uncover the truth behind the bomb incident.
The narrative was engaging, the direction satisfying, and the performances noteworthy. Additionally, the musical scores and comedy scenes were impressive. However, there were some instances of mass masala items and clichés, which detract from the overall quality of the production. Nonetheless, it is a valuable resource for one-time watching.
