Watched this not expecting much, but i was really pleasantly surprised.
Laura and Ryan meet at a nightclub, and after an awkward exchange at the bar, we then jump to their second date. They both receive different, but equally terrible advice from their friends about how to seduce each other...
The two main characters, played by Mackay and Roach, are such likeable characters, i found myself willing them on, and cringeing every time there was a false start for them. They both play the awkwardness so well, nd with the fringe characters (especially Tom Bell's Adam, a housemate whom both Ryan and his other housemate Dan have never learned the name of), providing additional laughs, this is a great comedy.
Undoubtedly cringeworth in places, but without malice, i found myself rooting for them, even with everything else that gets thrown their way on this one night, interspersed with flashbacks to their first drunken encounter.
All in all, this is a good comedy with solid performances all round, and a last minute twist that helps add a new element to the already tricky and clumsy night that Ryan and Laura have both experienced

I really enjoyed this. It's very much a short sketch but I laughed out loud and also found it very comforting in its own way, given so much of it was sadly relatable. Definitely worth about 90-100 mins of your day.

This is a personal favorite so I'll give it a 10 - since I'd love to watch it again! It's a spot on 2nd (or 1st...) date experience for us awkward but funny people. The acting is phenomenal and it has scenes that are so cringe but lovable at the same time! I go "oh no you didn't!" from one second to looking starry eyed and giggling like a school girl the next. And I love George MacKay and Alexandra Roach, they are such an attractive couple in this movie. The chemistry is definitely there! Greatly underrated at the moment. If you like British humor and have a sweet spot for everyday romance - you'll enjoy this.
If you're expecting something grand, or major comedy film it's probably not for you. It's pretty much a nice simple, tight-budgeted romcom that spent most of it screen time in one location. The premise is a bit generic but i like that they keep the plot very simple, which only tells the story over that one night. The humor aren't bad, some are even 'unexpectedly' hilarious. The acting is kinda over-the-top and a bit cringe.
I enjoyed this movie, although it was a bit tedious, especially in the beginning. There were some humorous sections depicting the awkwardness of a beginning relationship. The ending is humorous and shows some of the quirks of interpersonal relationships. The last 15 minutes or so made up for the slow beginning, as the last part was really very good. Not a sexy movie (sex is discussed much, but no bare parts shown), but more of a movie about relationships between single adults. Parts of it were funny, and the movie left me feeling good about the whole thing and I was glad I watched it. RECOMMENDED.
