Great sketch show that hits because it's got old fashioned talent, something so many shows lack nowadays. Doesn't rely on social issues / woke nonsense like so many Netflix shows, it's just her funny self. I'm not suggesting it would be be offensive to anyone I'm just saying it's funny because Amy is funny and it exists in her own imaginary world and social issues are not part of it. Refreshing and highly recommend. If you like her 90s stuff and Kids In The Hall, Mr. Show etc, you'll like this.
It's true that Amy Sedaris's comedy isn't for everyone. Either you like her or you don't. She's uncomfortably strange which is part of her charm. At Home With Amy Sedaris is an excellent display of Amy's comedic performance, it's as if a neurotic, outlandish 50s house wife that most likely never leaves her house landed her own TV show. Each episode possesses an excellent dose of comedy that helps the d.i.y. style story line flow naturally. Amy's ability to disguise her jokes as regular conversation and perform ridiculous actions that appear normal makes the entire show non-stop funny. In addition to this, the show's set is a feast for the eyes. Not only does the set look amazing, but it creates an environment which allows the viewer to suspend disbelief and really immerse themselves into Amy's charming, strange world.
You either "get" Amy's humor or you don't. If you don't, you probably won't like this show. If you do, you'll think it's hilarious as I do. Also many satisfying nods to Strangers With Candy. I was laughing so hard on the first episode I had to re-watch it because I missed so much.
