    Episode 1.2

When I saw the initial pilot I liked it enough to think Motherland had potential to be a series.

Now I have seen the first episode of the new series all I can say is despite the media hype, this was really a poor effort that ran out of gas and I think I only laughed once.

Julia is frazzled at work because of issues in raising a family. Her husband is no help and she has to plan her daughter Ivy's birthday. Yet again she follows Liz's advice, this time having a drop off party but the invitation was a bit unclear on this. Also Ivy falls ill on her birthday and the children's entertainer is not exactly the cat's whiskers.

Motherhood is supposed to be a honest depiction of being working parents. Well as a working father I reckon this is a one note comedy.
