Rollercoaster of acting
Wife can't act her timing is off her facial expressions and tone of voice seems to be unbearable at times and not real
good writing but bad acting
Love the writing on the show which could have been a big family show but i think the casting for the show was weak specially the main guy.
it's not awful, but...
... it needs tons of work. I wanted to like it as I am a big Run fan, I'm also an 80s rapper and happened to look just like him. they need acting coaches badly, and some more polished writers... given the time to develop it can be a solid Netflix watch, for right now it's good for families with kids who are young enough to not tell when the acting is poor. but as an adult it was more background noise while I looked on my cell phone.
Good with potential to get better
I really enjoyed the first season. Justine Simmons' acting was not great, but she is such a genuinely likeable person in real life that it made me root for her to get better with each episode. Rev Run's acting was better than I expected. The children were pros and it showed. I loved that I enjoyed it alone, but I could also watch with the whole family. I hope they give them another season to live up to their full potential.
Family Friendly
The show is very family friendly and fun, meaning at some points, the humor may just come off as shallow -- to a more serious audience I mean. Personally the pilot didn't hook me, but I continued on (because I myself prefer shows below the 30 minute mark) and eventually I found myself having to finish it.
I enjoyed the season, and found myself getting attached to the characters personalities after a few episodes. Audience just needs to be a bit open to some seemingly forced humor and cringe worthy side comments.
Overall, family friendly, nothing raunchy (like most shows or movies that fall under "comedy") and very light. Easy to follow as well.
