    Pretty stupid, but funny

The episode is pretty predictable, and pretty stupid, but at the same time it does has it's fair shame of good jokes. Such as the recurring joke that the negotiater doesn't feel any sense of moral responsibility.

Cute episode, very predictable but still good, I liked it.

    Decent episode

Doug Judy returns and Robinson and Samberg as always have great chemistry together. The bits with the bad negotiator are cynically humorous.

However, I found the episode's two subplots really didn't gel.

    Beautiful, beautiful episode!

Never seen a cuter hostage situation. A loved character returns and we also get to see a whole new different side of Boyle (actor is amazing as always). Overall, a very sweet episode filled with ROFL moments.

    • Trivia
Doug Judy jokes about San Diego and says "everybody knows that place sucks!" This is a running joke because Jake similarly disparaged San Diego previously after Amy's boring ex, Teddy, repeatedly gushed about how much he loved visiting there.
    • Goofs
Captain Holt wears his Commendation breast bar above his World Trade Center Breast Bar. When the WTC bar is worn, it is worn above all other medals, but below the American Flag bar.
    • Quotes

Jake Peralta: [hostage-taker Doug Judy requests Jake as negotiator, and the usual police negotiator doesn't like it] Since we all agree, I'll go tell Judy that the plan is on.

Negotiator: We don't all agree. He's trapped and desperate. Everything he told you is a lie.

Jake Peralta: Why do you say he's lying?

Negotiator: That's all negotiating is. Two liars, lying to each other until one liar stands too close to the window and gets shot in the head.

Jake Peralta: That can't be all negotiating is.

      Negotiator: It absolutely is.
