Why is this movie so poorly rated on imdb
I had high expectations from this movie, and was not disappointed.Anubhav sinha brings forward a subject without holding back.and gets his message across.the movie is well made, the first half is a bit slow but eventually picks up the pase.and the subtle twist(not really a twist but i have no idea how to describe it)at the end was the main thing that stuck with me.tapsee pannu and rishi kappoor did an amazing job and the rest of the cast were great too.the movie would not have the same effect if not for rishi kapoor and tapsi pannu's great acting.the movie is a must watch for every indian,it's more of a movie about humanity than relegion.
Mandatory that your children watch this, even if you don't...
I created an IMDB account only to write this review. An absolutely fantastic film, with a message that could not be more relevant to the times that we live in, is being deliberately given low ratings just so that people don't watch it. That in itself is reason enough to go to the theatres and give it a go.
Just to add, even by cinematic standards, this is a great movie. Sure there are some flaws here and there, however the message that the movie tries to convey, outshines every single one of them.
Go watch this movie. Take your children with you. Get educated together!!
Intense, realistic n thought-provoking film. The very fact that this film is getting
Negative reviews n low ratings on imdb proves the film's whole point of prejudices n us vs them mentality.
The good acting intensifies the drama, with Rishi kapoor's
remarkable performance making a traumatic centerpiece. Tapsee pannu personifies the defending lawyer with typical excellence. Manoj pahwa also stands out as a tormented father. The guy who played the judge was fantastic too. This is the best portrayal of a judge in hindi cinema till date.
Also noteworthy is Rajat kapoor's role of an apologetic cop. His hangdog's facial expression was noteworthy.
The little boy in a skull cap in Dhoni's jersey was thought provoking.
Mulk's strength is that it does not turn away from the ugly truth.
Rishi kapoor's end speech, the statement by the judge n Tapsee pannu's arguments were awesome. The speeches r as intense as Pacino's from Scent of a women without getting preachy or melodramatic.
The arguments by Tapsee pannu in the courtroom is as intense as Tom Cruise's from Few good men.
The director did a masterful job of treating the subject matter with care without the clichés n without any melodrama. Anubhav sinha shud b applauded. That guy has ****s of steel.
Some people are giving low ratings deliberatly! Ignore them and watch this movie.
At present, our country is dealing with many problems, but there are few fringe elements who are deliberately creating issues. They really think that by giving low IMDB ratings to such movie, they can make their India a better place. Please guys, this movie doesn't demean other religion. I am a Hindu myself, but I am not a fanatic. You can yourself see that they (giving low ratings) haven't watched the movie by the content of their review. I would suggest each one of you to go and watch the movie, then only you'll get to know who want your nation to prosper (Mulk makers) and who want to spread hate in your nation. (Fake reviewers)
This is my first ever IMDB review because I can't see that such good movies, which shows the religions unity, getting such low ratings.

- TriviaAfter watching the film, Soojit Sarkar said "Few people didn't see my film October 2018 as it was very slow but please go and see 'Mulk'."
- GoofsThe script writer or the director missed one very important point that could have been very helpful - Muslim Superintendent of Police Danish Javed has been portrayed as being under the misconception that all terrorists are muslims, so he intentionally shoots the terrorist dead when he had option to arrest him alive, and then he frames the family member of the terrorist on unproven preconceived notions, tortures them, misbehaves with the ladies and teenager girl in the family. But, he could rather have been portrayed as this being his own was of helping his muslim community. If he had been mild or soft on any of these accused, Hindu loudmouths would have highlighted it as his sympathy and solidarity with terrorists, and would have got him transferred or suspended or terminated. So, He did all this so that millions of muslims across government and other private jobs don't get tainted to be terrorist sympathizer and can continue they job and earn to run their families. This aspect would have added an important logical twist to the theme. In the present way, the script writer and/ of the director also appear as captive of their own preconceived notions.
