I saw this last night on Netflix.
This movie was on my radar for so many years especially due to its creepy setting (big n isolated mansion) and even more creepy plot of that of a man released from mental asylum n who starts seeing things n is never quite sure if he's really seeing what he's seeing, and neither are we.
The mansion is elaborate, with all the rooms, hallways, pool, etc. The mansion acts as a character itself. The swimming pool is massive but the pool area is downright creepy.
The house and its contents, including the statue (a creepy Sphinx ) are meant to disorient Tom and the audience, making them question the line between reality and hallucination as the plot unfolds.
After having spent 20 years in a mental institution for a violent crime, Tom (Topher Grace) has just been confined/house arrest to his family mansion he inherited after his father committed suicide just few days before his release front the asylum. Tom has to spend 30 days all alone in the big mansion.
Tom sees his dead father n their dead dog. He also gets spooky calls with just heavy breathing.

I first saw this in the early 90s on a vhs.
Revisited it recently.
Found it to be boring n repulsive.
Most of the time we see nuns screaming n running here n there.
We get to see tons of fire. The costumes of the nuns were very weird. The orgy n the nudity was uncalled for. Nobody in the right mind wud strip a woman n do exorcism.
The nudity is not at all sensual.
The film has atmosphere and it is a bit creepy but overall it ain't a strong horror movie.
The conclusion to Alucarda aka Sisters of Satan aka so many other titles reminds one of the carnage during the celebrated prom scene in Stephen King's Carrie.

I saw this for the first time recently and it was an easy guess that this lousy movie was trying to cash in on the success of Rumble in the Bronx.
Jackie Chan is not a lead actor in this one. He plays a punk gang leader with a hairy nevus/face mole.
The film itself is boring, with not much of a story, and bad fight choreography.
Nothing memorable except for Jackie's face mole.
