It is clear how the gay club scene was divided back in the 1980s.

There were gay clubs for young white people who would not want young black people and certainly did not one transvestites.

Blanca makes a stand and ends up being arrested. It is Elektra who comes to her assistance.

The more intriguing story is that of Stan and Angel. Stan married with children and a job in Wall Street. He just cannot get Angel out of his head and he gets a flat for her. This is a story I want to see how it turns out.

The problem for me is that the relationship between the young people such as Damon even in an era of AIDS is just not that interesting. Also the various challenges at the nightclub between the feuding houses gets boring very quickly.

    Surprising

I was surprised by the fact of how divided the LGTBQI+ community was divided 40 years ago. Well explained

    • Trivia
The scene where Blanca gets kicked out of the bar was filmed at a real bar in NYC called Julius, one of the oldest gay bars in NYC.
    • Goofs
When Stan and Angel are talking in a diner, at least three hybrid buses pass by. Hybrid buses weren't in use until the early 2000s.
    • Quotes

Stan Bowes: I'm no one. I want what I'm supposed to want, I wear what I'm supposed to wear and I work where I'm supposed to work. I stand for nothing. I've never fought in a war and I probably won't ever have to case the next on's gonna kill us all. I can buy things I can't afford which means they're never really mine. I don't live. I don't believe. I accumulate. I'm a brand, a middle-class white guy. But you're who you are even though the price you pay for it is being disinvited from the rest of the world. I'm the one playing dress-up. Is it wrong to want to be with one of the few people in the world who isn't, to have one person in my life who I know is real?
