Goodbye Honey

The the writing is horrible the story is horrible I could go on and on but I'd be wasting your time just don't watch it

Banging your head against the wall would be time better used.

A lonely truck driver is approached by a desperate girl at a remote road side stop. The truck driver is exhausted from working and the girl seems out of her mind with paranoia.

There are plot holes galore (truckers are restricted to the number of hours they can drive, for one. Truckers typically are connected by satellite to their dispatchers, etc.) but the performances are better than they are in most indie films.

I liked the movie in spite of the flaws, and enjoyed the grinding sense of unease it delivered.

Give it a chance.

By turns dull and annoying, this mostly suspenseless ordeal of a movie features a tired, cranky, scatterbrained female truck driver, a desperate young woman on the run, and the latter's vengeful male pursuer, who blames her for causing the death of his daughter and the ruination of his life. Pedestrian dialogue is punctuated by gaps of dead air, which the near absence of a film score renders all the more conspicuous. The cinematography isn't any better. The acting, in such circumstances, could have used better direction. Staying awake for all 90 minutes is a challenge.

It's actually not too bad a film. Obviously on a budget but the acting was fine and least the storyline was a bit different.

Stick with it if you aren't sure to start with. It's not bad.

I don't understand the low ratings; I thought this low-budget movie was excellent. The story unravels as we advance, keeping the suspense alive. It had no-name stars or fancy sets, but it delivered a solid story. Pamela Jayne Morgan, who played Dawn, was amazing, and Juliette Alice Gobin, as the captive girl Phoebe, was very convincing. Director Max Strand did a great job with his first full-length feature. I gave the movie a 7 for its intensity, simplicity, and how it made the most of limited resources. "Goodbye Honey" left me glued to my seat, proving that great storytelling doesn't need a big budget.
