This was what made Star Trek great in it's day, the story within the story, and that they found a solution to a problem only to be too late or that problem taking a turn. I must say I din't see it go dark when it did, and creepy as well. Please give us at least 7 seasons of this greatness.

Truly great sci-fi. Great storytelling, great characters, great special effects, bright. To All the naysayers I'm not sure what they want in sci-fi. Sci-fi isn't just people shooting each other all the time with high-tech weapons. If you have a withdrawal of watching aliens and humans kill each other with high-tech weapons go ahead and watch the other 99% of Hollywood Sci-Fi Productions. I gave this episode 10 out of 10, because it's the Oroville it automatically gets a 9 out of 10.

The first two episodes were quite the bore, and this episode is a definite breath of fresh air with its story telling. We got to see some crucial world building that this series needs with a episode not based around the now infamous maklins. Hopefully the series contains on this high and doesn't fall back to episode 1 and 2s bland story telling.

I'm happily surprised to see 2 Star Trek alumni, but the best thing of this ep is the filming and visual. Every frames of filming on Xelaya can be used as a desktop wallpaper, and the moment Alara riding "eevek" (similar to a unicorn), she looks like a Goddess.

This was an emotional moving episode. We will all miss Alara, she really was part of The Orville.
