I've been binging the show up until this point (brief pause to review this episode) and wanted to say that it was this episode that brought me to finally review. It was wonderful in so many ways. Usually an episode is marred by a long music score but this actually improved upon it for a change. Well done director James L. Conway, in my opinion one of your bests.

This episode was not a disappointment at all. I was expecting the usual cheesy (but loveable) musical episode but this was on another level. The song (no spoilers) made me cry. Heart swelling, nerve wracking, edge of my seat stuff with the usual darkness and drama we expect from this show. Love this show. It's just getting better.
I just watched this episode and I am speechless. I love this series, every episode is a gem but this episode is a sparkling diamond. Music and The Magicians (it sounds like a band, no?), what more can you need in your life? Perfection
Pure treat is this episode... Really enjoyed it. As always this show keeps surprising me. It's purely magical😀
I think this musical episode gets right what other shows get wrong, the writers place the songs and story together in a way that the musical scores are not cringy or feel out of place, I really liked the episode paying tribute to David bowie, it wawasvery good for a musical episode which mostly I can not stand but this one I give credit it deserves it and that is coming from someone who hates musicals.

- TriviaPenny sings: "Turned away from it all like a blind man. Sat on a fence, but it don't work." Several times in the series, it is pointed out that Penny denies his feelings for his friends, but ends up sacrificing the most because he cares so deeply about them.
- GoofsWe see a page of the book of the quest, in which every lowercase 's' has the long form (resembling 'f' without its crossbar). In traditional orthography, an 's' at the end of a word should have the modern short form.

Tick Pickwick: You've been found guilty.
Eliot Waugh: By a marsupial in a wig and a robe!
Tick Pickwick: The judge you requested for trial - the wombat.
Margo Hanson: Wombat? Jesus, Tick I said "combat". We wanted trial by *combat*!
