On the Corner of Ego and Desire

Filmed on location at Sundance 2018 On the Corner of Ego and Desire is a well produced and directed indie film that is well worth the watch. Following the film from concept to production director Alex Ferrari has done a stellar job together with a great cast we will no doubt see agin in future productions taking you on a journey that many film makers would have witnessed whilst giving the movie a few twists and turns on the way. Gets 10/10 also considering the budget and timescale.

This movie was absolutely adorable. As an aspiring filmmaker, I've met a lot of other filmmakers who rush to these top tier festivals which did not accept their film, hoping to still be able and sell it to producers. I think the film did a great job of showing the desperation a film team has when they've completed a film and are trying to get it 'out there', in addition to the utter faith they have in their film which of course is the absolute least filmmakers should have because if you don't believe in your own film, no one else will either. I was also cracking up during the stairs scene. Overall, a very enjoyable film.

As a filmmaker myself and fan of Indie Film Hustle I was quite excited for this film and it did not disappoint. This film tells the other story of indie filmmaking... The real story. It shows the struggles, the highs, the lows and as a filmmaker that has been though it, this film definitely captures that life and headspace. A must watch for any indie filmmaker but also a great time for anybody just looking for a fun film.

Alex Ferrari film and ideas are really great at showing self-deprecating humor executing a well crafted, "On The Corner of Ego and Desire." Three aspiring indie filmmakers make a really fun journey to the Sundance Film Festival to try to sell their self-declared masterpiece. They each show very real stereotype of the indie moviemaker: The producer, using his mother's savings, the director who's delusional and the editor trying to navigate everyone's craziness. This is a truly well crafted and very funny comedy. If you like films about the business and characters driving by ego and desire you'll love this film.

This movie absolutely nails what it sets out to accomplish. If you don't know anything about the making-of, it's a light comedy that sends up the indie film world. If you know about the making-of, this movie is downright astonishing.

The story is old but the way of telling it is new, which is really engaging. The characters feel genuine, the actors are loose and comfortable, and the run-and-gun cinematography is impressive. The dialogue could have used someone to punch it up -- but come on, the actors worked from an outline.

Look, if your refined palate can only tolerate the Coen brothers and Martin McDonagh, shut up and move along. This isn't for you. But if you have any interest in what's possible today in no-budget moviemaking, you will probably watch this over and over.
