Wow such terrible mess...
Even the eye candy T and A couldn't help this movie. One of the worst acting performances consistent through out the cast. Better to just watch some of the classic 70's films in this genre, like Women in Cages or Big Doll House. Skip this one...
Confusing and tries to do too much
From the same director of Dear God No! And Frankenstein Created Bikers, this film has a similar feel yet feels a little lesser and more rushed than FCB.
The story starts off relatively simple yet things seem to happen and move quite quickly. With a much shorter runtime than Bikers, Amazon Hot Box doesn't provide much of anything special.
Ellie Church gets top billing as she was the highlight. Tristan Risk plays the lead prisoner women and does a solid job. Jett Bryant is essentially the same character as he was previously with no depth given.
Nothing memorable about this film, save for a lengthy women's prison fight. Everything is quite toned down in comparison to James Bickert's previous films, the violence and gore, the nudity and the overall craziness. The ending was also very bizarre and ending the way it did with no real explanation.

At least they tried...
Sure, I had never even heard about this 2018 movie titled "Amazon Hot Box" prior to stumbling upon it by sheer random chance here in 2025. And given the fact it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to check it out and give it a fair chance.
The storyline in "Amazon Hot Box", as written by James Bickert - whom also directed the movie, turned out to be fair enough. I mean, it was simplistic and felt like a watered-down light version of a 1970s exploitation movie. Needless to say that you're not in for an evening of award-winning material here, should you opt to watch "Amazon Hot Box". But hey, at least the movie was made by someone with a love for exploitation movies.
The movie actually did have some familiar faces on the cast list, yeah I watch way too many questionable movies, I know. I was familiar with Tristan Risk and Jordan Phipps of the entire cast ensemble. The acting performances were fair enough for a movie such as this. Again, you're not going to be in for anything extraordinary.
The effects in the movie were actually better than you would expect for a movie such as this.
It looked and felt like a rather ambitious home-movie project. But it was actually pulled off well enough. Though it was not even remotely close to taking place in the Amazones, nor in a jungle Hell-hole.
It should be noted that the movie's cover was actually over-selling the movie by a landslide.
My rating of writer and director James Bickert's 2018 movie "Amazon Hot Box" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

Disgusting
Why they want to make this film. They have no point for this and they are blind i believe.
Not good
This movie was hard to watch. The acting was so bad. The only thing that saved this movie was Ellie Church. She literally carried the movie. I mean, I had to make myself continue to watch it and I LOVE campy cheap made B style movies. Unless your a big fan of Ellie, I would pass on this one.
Did you know
- TriviaOf the basic premise, that someone could be wrongfully imprisoned and tortured relentlessly in a different country. That's going to be an international lawsuit waiting to happen.
Plus the immense psychological damage that could be done to a person by a pointless and unnecessary interrogation. Convincing a victim to believe unintended lies in order to "progress" into complete fiction; they won't have any real information.
