A slightly slower second episode, taking time out to ground and get to know the characters better. Karl Urban is excellent here and Erin Moriarty surprisingly good too. The material is darker than ever and the climax a real show-stopper.
The second episode was slower paced but it was still a good episode and made a lot of fun to watch. I definitely want to watch more of it now. And I hope it stays good.
I enjoyed the boys part quite a lot, Translucent was pretty great, i personally find the whole politics talk boring generally but that's a personal thing, the show is definitely geared towards the whole political, social take of superheroes. Lots of talking, not what i love.
All the hero guys in this show are pervs...ok.
Honestly i don't get the whole, this show is outlandishly gory or dirty as of now. Maybe its just a direct comparison of Marvel because on its own its really not that crazy, sure its crazy, but i suppose the problem for me is how much the cast and reviewers amped it up, i guess the perversion is what the fuss is about. Maybe that's just my taste, i have only been watching horror movies and dexter and supernatural and some action movies for this past 1 year. I think the darkest journey here is Hughie's and the moral dilemma he has.
3 out of 5 stars.
The first episode set the bar high with being a fast moving, exciting and funny dark take on the superhero genre. The second episode slows down. Starlight is conflicted with how the seven is running things. Homelander is on the search for Translucent. Hughie, Billy, and Frenchie their new helper figure out what to do with Translucent. The episode dives deeper with the conspiracy with the seven. This episode lacks the fun energy and is a little boring.

I really cannot stress enough how much we actually need the MCU to actually take notes from this, because the MCU is always afraid of taking itself serious which ruined so many of their movies such as Thor: Love & Thunder and The Marvels, two of the worst movies ever, which both fell victim to the Disney fever by being too childish and not understanding about the fact that its comic movies about outer worldly super deadly heroes, its not meant to be all fun and games, its meant to be serious and tuff, something that only TDK trilogy, The Batman, Joker, Watchmen, Logan, Hopefully also the upcoming The Crow movie, Birdman, Brightburn, Samaritan, Legion, The Gifted and even The New Mutants understood what was necessary.
And i know i named you 14 movies and shows, which isn´t too little in itself and i know there is a few more that i forgot, but when you think about how many superheroes and villains movies that we have gotten over the last 20 years, which i think lays in the few 100s, then it becomes a little embarrassing that only this few of them have been done the justice that their comic counterparts deserve.
(9/10) I hope that the rest of the show (The Boys) is just as great and hardcore.
Shortened summary: This is one of the only times that Hollywood have understood that most of us consumers want hardcore action when we watch superheroes on the big screen, we don´t Superman without superpowers or Batman getting it in his a##.

- TriviaIn the comics, Billy Butcher is the leader of a CIA-backed organization called 'The Boys.' In the show, he's an independent contractor... meaning he officially works for no one... and has no government protection or support.
- GoofsIt is not possible to short out a car battery by throwing half a glass of urine at it. Even if the liquid should form a continuous conductor (which is beyond unlikely) it would simply heat up and evaporate. It takes more than a minute for a car battery to destroy itself even if you drop a metal wrench onto the pole pieces and it gets welded in place there by the arc (which is a thing that does indeed happen). Obviously, a wrench makes a far more efficient and resilient conductor.
