    Still Going Well!

Still enjoying this show. So far, this episode has been the goriest and still looks great by the way.

We also see more of the evil of certain Supes and just the plain casual disregard of the effect of their actions on normal people (for example, the plane scene).

We are also introduced to a mysterious new character, which I am very interested to see who or what she is.

Dolphins, small epic fight scene and that plane

Stellar. I was thoroughly entertained. I would really like to see more action. I think that's what i have been missing. It's a lot of talking. The psychotic nature of the lead superhero is unfolding. We get to know more about Frenchie. I think Starlight is a bit boring to me but i do appreciate that there is someone normal in the series.

    Homelander is such a rogue.

With episode four, Amazon superhero series The Boys continues in seriously twisted mode, caped crimefighter Homelander (Antony Starr) proving just how corrupt and callous he really is when a rescue mission on a high-jacked passenger plane goes seriously wrong. Back on land, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his cohorts raid an enemy stronghold where they discover a mysterious and very violent young woman being held captive.

The botched plane rescue is this episode's undeniable highlight: it's great to see just how unfeeling and self-serving Homelander can be, and Starr gives another great performance. Dominique McElligott, as his conflicted companion Queen Maeve, is also very good. My only minor complaint about this episode is the bowling alley date for Hughie (Jack Quaid) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty): it's necessary so that Hughie can bug Starlight's phone, but seems a touch too drawn-out and sedate compared with the show's more outrageous, fast-paced content.

7.5/10, rounded up to 8 for IMDb.

"How do you know so much about the Spice Girls?"

This episode is weaker than the other's, but it's still pretty good. It develops the story arc quite well by exploring the downsides to being a part of Butchers vigilante group, and that is the lack of freedom, aswell as the questionable moral decisions.

    Heading Strong

From the fight sequence to the inspirational pep talk, everything is awesome. Homelander's presence gives the chills, specially that airplane sequence. Chemistry between the leads is good.

    • Trivia
The scenes on the hijacked plane were filmed aboard an actual jet fuselage that was brought into the sound stage in Toronto. It took four days to film the full sequence.
    • Goofs
Homelander enters Transoceanic Flight 37 using an over-wing exit door, which remains open during the initial fight with the hijackers. As the aircraft later descends after the cockpit fight, it encounters turbulence and the emergency oxygen masks deploy.

The emergency oxygen masks on commercial airliners are triggered by a loss of cabin pressure, not by a sudden descent or turbulence. The masks should have deployed the moment Homelander opened the door, which is left open for about 30 seconds, long enough to completely depressurize the cabin and cause most people (at least those without super abilities) to lose consciousness without supplemental oxygen.

Billy Butcher: What's Sporty Spice up to?

      Mother's Milk: Who?

Billy Butcher: Sporty fucking Spice. What is she up to?

      Mother's Milk: I don't know.

Billy Butcher: Exactly. How about Posh? You know what she's doing?

      Frenchie: I don't understand.

Billy Butcher: Making clothes for anorexics. Right? Not exactly a growth market. And Baby? You know what she's doing? Fuck all. Not even page six of the Daily Mail. And Scary Spice? Up to her eyeballs in lawsuits and sex tapes. Ginger, on the other hand, has released three albums. 'Passion', 'Schizophonic', and 'Scream If You Want To Go Faster'. They'll all make your ears bleed. You see, when they're apart, they're absolute fucking rubbish. But, you put them together... they're the goddamn fucking Spice Girls.
