    Locked up fun.

How refreshing to see the hilarious Home Improvements followed up with the just as hilarious Escape Room. On this evidence we're in for a brilliant series. Escape Room started off with the usual round of gags, but the humour throughout was just wonderful. When you get a grouping of comics like Lee Mack, Bobby Ball and Huw Dennis you are bound to get laughs, but as always it's Geoffrey Whitehead who steals the show.

    Brilliant.

    What a Thrill

"As a surprise for Lee's birthday, Lucy decides to invite the whole family to join them in an escape room."

Thrilling and funny. So many twists and turns and the rivalry between Frank and Geoffrey just adds to the fun. Anna and Toby's couple squabbles, Wendy's unique outlook on things and Lucy's sarcasm just add to the genius of the episode. Even after watching several times there is still a tense feeling to it and to have that in a show that has a gag every few seconds is particularly impressive!

It's also very cleverly written with the situation and the clues that all fit in a way that seems effortless.

    Escape Room

I really think this should had been the opener as I found the first episode of series 9 disappointing.

Lee is given an Escape room adventure by Lucy. After his embarrassment in Thorpe Park for his previous birthday, Lee rather fancies something more sedate.

Unfortunately, Lee is handcuffed to a bomb, there is a ticking clock and he is trapped in the room with his dad, Lucy's parents, Anna and Toby. Worse for Lee, it should had been Toby who should be handcuffed to the bomb as the organiser of the Escape room has a grudge.

A thrilling and funny episode, some nice gags and a twist. I liked Geoffrey Whitehead making some Sherlock Holmes jokes as he once played Sherlock in a television series.
