    Good story telling?

What is this episode? Soooo far fetched, so many decisions that would not happen in real life. Not going to sick bay when you are seeing a ghost and previous episode you where like "yeah science"? Your friends ,co workers , captain not telling you to go to sick bay or even order you, after they saw you talk into thin air.

Every single scene feels like it is practiced 100 times , the actors feels like they are doing the moves just to get to the end of the scene.

So much talking and talking and i really don't care, i am kinda bummed by this episode.

If this is star trek cant we not have this silly soap opera writing, the show feels small and crowded with no one really shining at the moment.Cant we do the fun stuff about star trek? Lets evacuate a planet, or drill some hole in the magma of an H class planet. Or beam some people up and down, i don't know i don't get paid for this, but how about we encounter a freaking space anomaly and someone get sicks and has flashbacks of alternate timelines which eventually and up to be the conscious mind of another dimension being and we wrap it up with some positive message like teamwork and logical thinking, throw some ethics in there too.

I said it before ,this is a space opera episode.. and maybe show? i hope not. .

    Klingon Filler

Ok so as far as Klingon episodes of Discovery go this was an improvement but still problamatic from a continuity standpoint. They most spoke english dialogue which was an improvement over the plodding subtitle scenes off the first season but the story overall felt out of place with what this season has shown us this far.

The Spock stuff while interesting was also rife with more continuity issues and felt like padding to fill out the episode. Also the camera work was extremely over the top this week. Bring back Johnathon Frakes.

Over all this episode felt like filler and wasn't as good as the first two episodes. 6/10

    The Good and the bad

I don't get why people give this episode 1/10 rating. That is not fair.

The show now starts to move towards something that looks and feels like a real startrek show.

But i do agree with people saying that the camera work was terrible. They focus Way to much on "cool" camera effects instead of the story. Please stop doing that. That's not why people watch a startrek show.

Section 31. Now that is cool and something i have wished for to happen in season 1 also.

Really looking forward to where that story Line is going...

I like the fact that they try to better introduce other caracters than Michael. Give Them some "air time".

Looking forward to the next episodes.

Klingon filler & Section 31 prologue

It wasn't great, it wasn't bad. It was a decent filler episode. We got a peek at what Georgiou's series will entail, a possible DS9 foreshadow (is The Albino the child of Voq and L'Rell?), some resolution on Tilly's ghost (a personal highlight for me).

Now for the bad: Pike, who in my mind is the standout of this season, is mostly on the back burner. Also for the love of God no more Klingons, or at least no more Klingon blood feuds, I beg of you writers. Also I have mixed feelings about seeing Ash again, but I would love to see him as a regular in Georgiou's Section 31 series as was implied at the end.

    All in all, decent filler.

    A surprise around every corner

This season not only feels like Trek but also is becoming a compelling SF story in its own right. The Klingon battle was thrilling . . . the Starfleet race not so much . . . but the writers did a great job planting seeds and spiking the brew to what will hopefully be a great payoff later.

I am enjoying the fleshing out of Spock's mother as a deep character who was held in such high esteem by her son.

Stametts says Tilly is harboring a eukaryotic organism, which is taken to mean a fungus. This is not what "eukaryotic" means -- eukaryotic organisms includes all fungi, plants, and animals, and presumably many of the extraterrestrial species on Star Trek.

Amanda Grayson: Spock speaks highly of you, Captain Pike. Now my daughter does, too, so I know I've come to the right people.

Captain Christopher Pike: Well, ma'am, that makes it all the harder for me to tell you. I can't open this file. If I did, I'd be in violation of the rules, and my mother wouldn't like that.

Michael Burnham: There is precedent in Starfleet case law for a captain to invoke...

Captain Christopher Pike: [to Amanda] Was she this bossy as a kid?

Amanda Grayson: On Vulcan, we call it "persistent", and yes, she was. She learned that from me.
