Interior Design Masters

I won't be watching another season, they absolutely chose the wrong winner. How can someone who has never won a single challenge (before the final), and who every challenge makes mistakes, becomes easily overwhelmed and keeps losing focus, be the right winner? When the alternative is a person who has consistently shown their skill and talent, and rarely made a mistakes. I know who I would trust to design a space for me, and it's not the winner.

Both finalists have real talent, but consistency and focus are key when dealing with real clients. I feel like the show's creators got carried away with creating an underdog to champion narrative, because it makes good TV, and no one really cared too much about the winner.

Honestly I'm hoping the winner's errors were over exaggerated by the show's editing process, because otherwise the owners of that cocktail bar (the winning prize) will be in for a chaotic renovation process.

Wish I could rate higher because this is the show that got me hooked on other interior design shows like Apartment and Great Design Challenge. However, it's impossible to undermine the major flaws of the format: giving absolute power to only one judge and asking contestants to demonstrate their talent and signature styles via chaotic "teamwork"-based war zones. Perhaps starting with a smaller group of contestants and including more opportunities for sole-masterminded work may have helped with the overall outcome. For accountability purposes, the guest judges should have had voting power.

The show was okay. Loved the challenges and different spaces. However, I'm very surprised by who the judges choose as the winner. I personally didn't like any of the solo designs that this designer did-and based on the judges own criteria, this designer didn't stick to design briefs. Very confusing judging and uninspired design by the winner.

It became apparent that in order to remain on the show didn't require so much as talent and an eye for design, but a mouthy and egocentric demeanor. The more that the contestants became amenable and comfortable with each other they were eliminated. Designers who failed to generate conflict were deemed too boring for Reality TV and sent packing. One would expect these trite and tired production values from so many American 'singing' contests, but not from our friends across the pond. A useless import for Americans mobbed by omnipresent TV people looking for a fight.

Nicky has more talent. The least the judge could have done was to push both contestants through to episode 7. I picked up a subtle bit of peer-aged jealousy from episode one. It's a shameful classic example of how people in higher positions can misuse their power. I hope Nicky continues pushed forward because her vision HAS classy forward thinking. Elle UK is clearly losing future vision.
