After science and dialogue left the room there was barely anything holding this thing together.
But even the continuity in the show itself is gone now. Wasn't it 2 episodes ago that they encountered a alien protein that could kill them? And what's the first thing they do now? Eat stuff they find walk around without helmets on.
The team of writers behind this show are something special alright.
Compelled to watch, despite the low production values. Episode 1 - "we haven't worn uniforms is decades". Episode 5, everyone clearly in uniforms.
And yes...we just lost a few redshirts to an alien parasite so let's take absolutely no precautions going forward.
I'll keep watching it however, because there's literally nothing else after 2 years of pandemic entertainment.

However, they re-used the set of Annihilation with Natalie Portman for sure.
Thinking is the process of perceiving and making sense of one's surroundings. Once again we find that the crew is woefully lacking in the most basic mental ability: thinking. And why might that be. Perhaps the writers themselves are lacking. That's where I put my money.
And once again the crew shows a lack of unity; of respect (for themselves and others) and basic cohesion. Again I would suggest that the writers themselves have never experienced camaraderie: of being a member of a team.
If not for the clearly substandard writers this series could have been a success.

I am really perplexed with what is going on with this show.
Have the writers ever met a single sane, competent person in their lives? Do they really have no experience with how they behave, with what might be expected of them.
This entire show as if the cast were completely socialized by the most terrible of daytime talk shows. They have zero idea how to interact with other human beings, or how to even slightly stay on task.
Does anyone ever learn from their mistakes? Make even the most basic of efforts not to repeat them?
Who thought this was a good idea and how did they find the time to make it between their bouts of licking light sockets?

- TriviaSasha states that there are "213 nations" on Earth while reciting his "first contact protocols" to the alien crystalline structure on the alien moon. (Based on conditions set by Article 1 of the 1933 Montevideo Convention, there are 206 nations as of July 2019 on Earth.)
