Holly Can't Save It.
So like the other reviews say, Holly Robinson is about the only reason to watch this. The writing is truly awful (even for a Hallmark movie) and some of the other actors are pretty bad, particularly the male lead who must be an athlete(?) Certainly not an actor by any stretch of the imagination.
I made it through two of these but I think that's it for me. I enjoyed catching up with Holly again but wish she'd find something a little more worth watching.

Clean, fun, cozy mystery!
This is the second one in this series I've watched and I was not disappointed. Fun characters, a budding romance and a who done it mystery, set in a lovely town, make this a pleasant relaxing entertainment. I had a lovely evening watching it.
Morning Show Mystery: Murder on the Menu
6/10 - not the most exciting HMM flick, but always good to see Holly Robinson Peete
Kudos to Hallmark MM & Holly
I just have to say kudos because the Detective/love interest is 5 years younger than Holly! It seems women age out much more quickly than male actors. So yeah to Hallmark for putting an actress with a younger man.
The show is typical HMM fair. If you enjoy the other movie series, you will like this one too.
Good
Being a Hallmark movie, this mystery comes with my usual cheese warning. This is especially evident when we see Ian's pre-teen daughter. On the other hand, there is something so sweet about the scenes she is in that it is hard to object. Just know it is coming when you sit down to watch, and you'll be fine.
One final warning, they spoil the first movie in the first few minutes of this one, so if you haven't seen it and care, you'll definitely want to watch it before you see this one.
Murder on the Menu is a fun second mystery with these characters. If you enjoyed the first film, you'll definitely enjoy revisiting them. James Welch Henderson Arkansas 4/17/2021.
