One of my favorite feelings watching a film is one of "You can't do that!" or "Oh my f-ing God they went there!". I felt that nearly constantly as this wildly complex, sophisticated and consistently hilarious Sci-Fi epic unfurled before my eyes on screen.
I'm tempted to call this a satire of Sci-fi action films because of the complex backstory/mythology, deliciously ridiculous chainsaw wielding character and most of all the tortured lead having the worst of all possible days even before he enters the titular mining facility full of extraterrestrial/prehistoric beasts whose "teeth have teeth"...but it's so much more. The earnest love of the genre and the wildly unique world this film explores permeates every scene. The humor often comes at the expense of genre tropes, but the insane plot actually holds together and delivers a wild ride and satisfying conclusion with true pathos.
On top of that, it delivers a powerful rebuke of runaway capitalism pitting innocent prole miners just trying to live their lives against lunatic rich owners using them as pawns and often as figurative and literal sacrifices to fulfill a prophecy of their own exclusive religion.
No question the budget is low, but the green-screen compositing is shocking good and the expansive and eclectic mix of CGI elements sourced from the internet (as the long credit roll, an event in itself, details). I particularly enjoyed the sequence where an innocent person is immolated in an elaborate ritual with devotees in masks and robes against the backdrop of an innocuous suburban subdivision.
This is a wildly crowd pleasing film that will delight genre fans and even those who dislike Sci-Fi movies. If this doesn't develop a rabid cult following the Earth deserves to be overrun with Dinosaurs from another planet.

If I was teaching film I would show this to every class. The writing is fantastic and I would watch anything these filmmakers put out. I was lucky to catch this at the Indy Fest so you might have to wait until its fest run is done before you can find it online. But boy oh boy once it is out there it will be an instant cult underground classic. On the web their are elements that artist make for free use. They scooped up just about everything and mix it up in to a well crafted film. Funny? Absolutely! There is just so much to tell you but I don't want to give anything away. Let me leave you with this. Next time there is a big budget film with bad writing just think about these guys. No money all heart makes a fantastic movie.
Dinosaurs are real. This movie went over like gangbusters of giggles. I loved it. My jaw hurts from laughing and now I think I'm going to go make something of myself.

This movie is just a straight up good time! It was born in a blender of low budget genre movies and high concept sketch comedy. Imagine Kids In the Hall followed Brain Candy with a sci-fi action comedy and got your most with-it friends in high school to helm the production. Imagine Don Dohler decided to make Night Beast but kicked writing duties to the kids from The State. Check this movie out, then go tattoo frames of it on your face!
