I enjoyed this movie today. Great character arc and entertaining. I think the casting was perfect too. The scenes of the Space Waves tower were amazing. Young and old audiences will find something to relate to. I'm glad I purchased so I can watch again and again.
There's so many movies about romantic breakups but hardly any about best friend breakups.
Space Waves is about letting go of how things were, embracing how things are, and knowing that although times change, friendship and adventure can be found in every season of life.

...and brought the 80s back. What a fun way to relive a moment in time, just as if it was yesterday. You nailed every cliche that made back in the day, the day.
Movie writing requires a plot. This movie did not incorporate a plot in the vapid and disconnected writing.
Unsure as to the "80s" motif other than the lead character wearing a headband like Olivia Newton-John.
The "conflict" was manufactured and disjointed. (As well as film school awkward prescriptive dialog) Nobody will ever understand what the "Space Waves Podcast" was about, nor will anyone understand why this was brought to the screen.
Just play the bagel scene over and over to appreciate the abysmal story telling of this futile attempt at agro 80s humor.
Yawnfest.

I love the small town vibraish of this flick. You've got Planet Earth level drone shots of towers and beautiful rivers and canyons and countrysides smashed together with nice and easy slow living shots of the local burger joints and thrift stores. It's what Northern California is alllll about and we finally get a little recognish with this masterpiece.
High degree of one liners will have you laughing for dayyyyyyyyyyyyys you might get a tattoo with some of these lines by the time you soak up the savory beefy Alfredo meal that space waves injects in your cranial cavity.
