A spinoff that didn't take off.

The series of 2 hour movies that made up the last season of Emergency were a series of attempts at a spin off series that didn't happen. This is one that probably would have worked. The setting in Seattle, the character development, the visual style were all excellent. What went wrong was the MUSIC! I don't know if this was stock music used to save money or what, but it clashed with the tone of the story. As a huge fan of the show, I would have enjoyed this as a worthy sequel, but the tinny, mismatched music ended that possibility.

    ACK!!! The music!!

Who listened to this music and thought: Wow, that sounds absolutely smashing. We're good to go on this one.

This music features a lot of brass, mainly trumpets and is strident, high in pitch and loud! It's not harmonious, it makes your teeth hurt to listen to it! Extremely loud trumpets

It destroyed what was otherwise a good episode.

The headquarters station in the episode was the actual SFD HQ (station 10), and has an indoor swimming pool on the 2nd floor with a large "10" tiled on the bottom. The 100+ year old station is now a fire apparatus museum, and is open to the public. The new FD HQ is located three blocks to the east.
