    Strange little detail

From the beginning we are told Marty is a bit of a scrooge and doesn't like spending money and always chooses very sensible things to buy. However, he drives a fourth generation Honda Odyssey, which was notorious for its transmission problems. VERY unlikely a person like Marty would buy such a problematic car.

Wendy ruins the show - reminds me of Skyler in Breaking Bad

I can only agree with the other bad reviews. Season 1 was very good, s2 wasn't bad either, but wendy is starting to get really annoying. Story is no longer well thought out and not exciting. You just hope that Wendy screws up and dies soon. But as with Skyler, this is unfortunately not to be expected. I should probably stop at this point, it only gets worse.

    Another good episode

Season 3 is off to a great start. I think the changing power dynamics between Marty and Wendy are fascinating. I don't understand the hatred of Wendy. How is she any worse than Marty? Both have become sleazebags with only a few redeeming qualities. Both think of themselves as basically decent people trying to survive a rough patch in their lives yet they are both equally guilty and delusional. Why root for either one of them over the other?

    Mutually Assured Destruction

We open with Ben (Tom Pelphrey), Wendy's impulsive, empathetic and non-conformist brother losing his job as a teacher and moving in.

Ruth, Wendy & Helen each show their cunning, will-to-win and belligerence to close a deal, despite Marty's attempts to undermine them. This success could put them all in jeopardy, however.

Marriage Counselor: Marty, what would it look like to achieve your objectives without interfering with Wendy's project.

Martin 'Marty' Byrde: I think that that would look like death.

Marriage Counselor: But what would it really look like.

      Martin 'Marty' Byrde: Really, death.

Marriage Counselor: Okay. Marty, my mother had a saying. Just as a pie is only as good as its crust, a marriage is only as good as its trust.
