    Weird and cool.

This is a funny little nightmare of a short film.

I also only learned about Yoji Kuri last night and I've become fascinated by him. This is probably the best short of his I've seen so far. He's one of a handful of experimental/out-there directors who make me feel as though there's a link between making weird stuff and living a long life. This guy was born in 1928 and is apparently still alive. Kenneth Anger lived to 96, Michael Snow to 94, Jonas Mekas to 96, and Jan Svankmajer just turned 90 today, by pure chance. Make weird films and/or shorts and you'll live long, is what I feel.

The Midnight Parasites is also cool because it feels like one of those traumatic early 2000s Flash animations (Salad Fingers comes to mind), but done 30 years before those were popular. It's eerie and uniquely nightmarish. Very surreal; either the people behind this have very vivid dreams, or some substances may have been involved in the creation of The Midnight Parasites. Well, it could also be both.
