    Best episode!

Supergirl started OK; but, has never been better than that. Too much political commentary, too little emphasis on story. This episode has the potential to turn the series around! At first, I was Leary of Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor. I was beyond wrong! The ending was fantastic. I really hope this show is going in a new, better direction.

Easily, far and away, the best episode of the show

The first season wasn't bad. Since then, this has, in general, been a terrible show, with few exceptions (you rock as always, Chris Wood!). We have hung in there out of habit. People, and moments, have largely been "devices" in the last 2+ seasons (not the actors' fault). Admittedly, the last couple of episodes were better than they should have been, based upon the "episode descriptions." But all of your pain throughout the last 50 or so episodes -- all of the few-highs and mostly-lows -- pays off during this episode. The preachy, irritating, irrational setup (for 50 episodes) of this season's 15th episode is somehow worth it.

This is, top to bottom, the best episode of the show. Jon Cryer is perfect for this version of Lex. He and Lena have a great dynamic. The writing is terrific, finally. Moments are held, instead of blown through to get preachy, childish plot devices out of the way -- the show has been mostly driven by elementary lessons up until this point. But this episode, finally, showed us that a CW show can have acting, writing, and directing work together (all of the DC CW shows have been trying to recover this quality this season -- with some success across the board). I don't want to give away what happens, because, for once, you didn't know everything that was going to happen in this episode -- there are actual twists! I was so shocked at the success of this episode, I made this my first TV show review. If you gave up on this show, skip to this episode, watch, and then pray with me that subsequent episodes keep this level of quality.

    Lex Luthor fixes Supergirl

Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor is just what the Supergirl series needed. The first half of the season is filled with political commentary that was really getting old. I got to the end of this episode and thought "Now, we're talking!" I can only imagine how much better the rest of the season will be.b

    Decent.

    3 out of 5 stars.

The episode introduces Lex Luthor which was a fun interesting take on the character. And the direction it ends for the rest of the series. Meanwhile, Manchester plots to cut power to the city. Which Supergirl and Jonn try to stop him.

Alan Harper is a GREAT Lex Luthor!

The best episode of the series, hands down! And the reason is one: LEX!

Who could think that Jon Cryer would be one of the best Lex Luthors ever?

    • The schemes... Of course he had everything planned, for years, to the last detail!
    • The obsession with Superman. The only being he is extremely emotional about.

Jon Cryer played Lex Luthor's nephew Lenny Luthor in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987), According to Cryer himself, he stated that the film's less than sterling reputation was half the reason he accepted the role, alongside his love of the first Superman movie and the comics, as he wanted the opportunity to do the Luthor name justice.

Lex says Epicurus is a 230 year-old philosopher. A closer estimate would be 2,300 years, as he died in 270 BCE.

Lena Luthor: Thank you, officer. That'll be all.

Lex Luthor: They never let me out of their sight. As if I'd run away like a dog set loose from his leash.

      Lena Luthor: Well, you would.
