The Coney Island Cyclone (simply known as the Cyclone) is a historic wooden roller coaster. It opened on June 26, 1927, and is a part of Luna Park (which originally was Astroland). On July 12, 1988, the Cyclone was declared a New York City landmark. On June 26, 1991, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
