Forsake, an award winning short film is undoubtedly an expertly- directed movie by Sahil Bhardwaj indulging the audience in its own concepts of love and separation. A tightly-written script gives the characters an opportunity to exhibit fraction of their real life emotions and hence beautifully portraying the relatable nature of the movie.
The story unfolds as Vikram(Tushar) on seeing his long lost love Manvika( niharika) ,in an attempt to have a word with her, decides to follow. He ends up watching her sitting on a park bench, reading a book. Gathering all the courage, he finally manages to take a seat beside her. The conversation, thereafter, creates an atmosphere of yearning of the heart to be loved again.
It is well acted, fervently performed with slightly higher scale of performance by the actress for that matter, eventually adding more originality to the film. The dialogues are exceptionally strong and convincing. The tape that runs in the end creates a tension in the voice which is quite likeable. Music and the lyrics support the plot in every possible way. The monologue of the actress is one of the most powerful scenes that you will come across.
A skillful piece of short film-making, that will surely change the way you think about separations.
