I don't think this show is rated correctly but I do love the characters and I love how it's based on a diary of a middle school girl who will become President. It feels like degrassi but on Disney channel. They only thing I'm a little annoyed by is how many storylines are happening. I can't keep up and it is sometimes exhausting. But overall it's good.
Its a good show Sam the best part I like all the bobby side plots the show is pretty good season 2 just came out and I watched half of it so trust me you should give it a try.
If I think back to when I was in middle school and how we acted and how dramatic things seemed, this show is accurate in how middle schoolers are. I think the show is cute.
When I see people rate this low just based on the fact that the "inappropriate" part of this show is the fact that girls the age where they normally get their period, mention and talk about their period (because believe me, when I was in middle school, that was actually a thing), it makes no sense. If you think about the demographic for the viewers of this show, which I would say probably includes girls who get what they are depicting in the show, it makes sense that they'd mention that. There's no reason to hide something that all girls go through and can actually have something in common with characters in the show. They're depicting what it's like to be a teen girl and just because it's a Disney show, doesn't mean it should be all rainbows and flowers and be ignorant and tells girls that it's still something to be ashamed of and having a period is "inappropriate", when it's just life.
This show is great. The girls are normal pre-teens who are well-behaved and curious. The person who said that because Disney mentions periods, they are sexualizing a kids show - WOW - just wow. Your kid is going to grow up really sheltered and shocked at normal life. Good luck. I prefer to sit with my kids and watch a show that inspires them to be a good president and answer their questions about life. Kudos to Disney!
Disney shows have never shyed away from tough topics. Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana both talked about bras. Lizzie also talked about eating disorders. That's So Raven tackled racism. Smart Guy took on child predators. And so on, and so forth. Why are people only mad when it comes to talking about being gay or having your period?
